Apparently staff not only works reception but also in the restaurant so consequently it was difficult to find someone to ask questions.

I enjoyed staying in the hotel, the room was brilliant. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. However, my experience with the waitstaff was quite disappointing. During our breakfast, the waiters were incredibly rude. I was accused of being dishonest (that I’d eaten part of my breakfast (they hadn’t brought) and begging for more). They were being sarcastic. This behaviour was shocking and unprofessional. Our group, which was quite large, decided to skip breakfast the next day because of this unpleasant experience. Not a single staff member apologized and only said “Yes, the situation wasn't good”. Even when I send them an email about the situation.

We were travelling in a group of 8 mature ladies and there was literally no where we could all sit in the bar to enjoy a drink together as there were so many non residents using the facilities. Service in the restaurant was non existent after our initial order was taken. It was a bank holiday so a busy day but there really should have been enough staff to service the tables. we literally had to go and find staff every time we needed something. When it came to paying the bill some things which had already been paid were not removed from the total and rather than handle the issue politely I had the most intense battle I have ever had in any restaurant for them to accept we had already made payments. In the end I had to show the payment in a banking app and ask them to search their transactions, once found there was no apology only a stony silence and a very unfriendly manner. This was from one staff member in particular, so hopefully just a bad one but we didn't feel very welcome by a couple of others after this too. Unlikely to recommend or return despite the excellent location in the town. We encountered only fabulous hospitality from everywhere else we stopped at in the Netherlands on this trip.

Hotel was in a great position in town, beautifully decorated and clean and accessible. There was good secure bike storage outside (locked but no roof). The food was excellent.

Only improvement that we could suggest would be bigger bath towels!

Breakfasts were very good and there were several choices of evening meal that we found very tasty. Room was quirky but pleseant and bed very comfortable. If didn't want room serviced you received a free drink voucher. Ideal location for Keukenhof gardens and tulip fields.

U can hear the noise from next door.

Very accessible the bus station is just nearby. Restaurant and pub down below, no need to get out after a long day outside, we enjoy the foods and drinks. Nice staffs

As anticipated for a city hotel with a long history, the accommodations leaned towards the traditional side, lacking modern flair and spaciousness. The bathroom, in particular, was notably compact. The overall square footage of the bedrooms, especially those with balconies, left room for improvement as the information provided only indicated the total area without specifying the actual bedroom size.

The hotel offered a solid and commendable experience. The staff was consistently available, friendly, and willingly accommodated even the smallest requests, such as promptly providing an extension cord for our CPAP machine. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and tasty. What set this experience apart was their ingenious system of checking in advance on guests' preferences, including how they prefer their eggs prepared. This thoughtful approach not only ensured that our desired breakfast items were warm and ready at the right time but also showcased a commitment to minimizing food waste. Located conveniently in the heart of Hillegom's city center, the hotel's setting added to the overall positive experience, providing both convenience and charm. In summary, the hotel provided a reliable and pleasant stay with attentive service, thoughtful breakfast management, and a convenient location.

The immediate environment is not very inspiring, but that was not what we expected.

Staff was very friendly at every interaction during our stay. The restaurant serves a very decent dinner and we enjoyed a well-organised and complete breakfast.
