Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

MexicoI would prefer that there was not a limit of timing in the shower. I think it is useful to save water, but it does put pressure on guests.
The hotel is a very cozy and warm place, that is well located for both University of Utrecht and the city center. Moreover, the host is very attentive to the guests.

AustraliaYou get to experience a genuine Dutch city house which means it has vertigo-inducing steep stairs and no lift. But Ted grabbed our luggage and ran it up the three flights, showing the stairs are good for you. Whilst it’s a shared toilet/shower, there’s one per 4 rooms so you won’t have to wait. It’s a 20 min walk from station which we did with large suitcases over cobblestones- not a good idea. But 5 minutes away from the hotel is a direct and frequent bus stop which we successfully took back.
Ted made our stay wonderful and memorable. He is so friendly and enthusiastic to please the guests in the hotel he has run for decades. I have never shaken hands with a motel owner to say hello and goodbye before!Nice breakfast too, all for a price lower than an impersonal hotel. We really liked Utrecht.

Ted was a kind host - kept our bags for us and was really lovely. The breakfast was very good and the location excellent. Facilities were basic but everything you need and scrupulously clean.

GermanyTed, the loveliest person and owner of the hotel made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable and truly accommodates you to the best of his ability, such as allowing us to leave our luggage at the hotel until our train departed after check out . The hotel was exceptionally clean for how antique it seems, the beds were very comfortable with housekeeping everyday to ensure you come back to a clean and comfortable stay. The breakfast was deliciously simple, with eggs fresh from Ted’s farm! The hotel is in a great location, just off the street from a canal and a short walk to the city centre.
