Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Excellent location, right in the historic centre, very close to the Dom Tower and canal. Love the tower bell singing. The e-key works well. Powerful shower. During our three-day stay, we went to a few recommended eateries, Anna’s Pancakes, Ted’s, and an Indonesia restaurant Blauw, all serving excellent foods! Thank you for the recommendation.

United StatesStairway was quite steep so people with disabilities might find it hard to utilize this hotel.
Lovely, spacious room with balcony. View was amazing - seeing both the Domtower and another belfry. I loved the clock bells ringing the time. Easy to walk to - between train station, hotel, and area around Domtower. Manager was lovely, friendly.

United KingdomThe room was facing the church tower with bells which kept tolling every 15mins. Not ideal if you are hoping for a good night's rest or can't wear earplugs. The stairs to the rooms are extremely steep, I couldn't imagine myself carrying a heavy suitcase up to the top floor!
The room was of great size with a very comfortable bed. The shower had good water pressure despite being located on the top floor. I really appreciated that the hotel provided earplugs for the stay cause without them I wouldn't have slept a minute. The room was very well equipped

SwedenIf you have problems climbing stairs or with noise during the night (the church bell ringing every 30min) I do not recommend this place.
Everything clean but small. Very nice and central. We got the rooftop room which was very small, from the pictures it looks like the other rooms are slightly bigger. It is an okey room for 1-2 nights maximum. Very narrow and steep stairs. I Do not recommend this place if you have problem to climb stairs.

RomaniaThe sockets were hard to find, we wanted to charge our phones and it took us 10 minutes to find them under the drawers next to the bed which is not intuitive at all.
The room was very clean and the bathroom was nice.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a second stool or a chair in the room for both people to be able to sit down. Also, we arrived on a Monday when reception was closed, so there was nowhere to leave bags until you can access your room at 15.00. That was a bit of a pain.
A beautiful room, very good size and bright and airy, with lovely deco.

GermanyIt would have been really nice if the host let guests know that there is no parking available anywhere nearby. Or give a hint where it would be possible. We came in a car and had to drive through the mall to get there. After a long time, we found parking 20 minutes away. The bathroom is good for one person only at a time. And it was not a good communication experience. Everything was by standard mail, even when we asked specific questions. Staircase is definitely not for older persons.
Great location, great bed, fairly big room

United KingdomCould have been staff at the hotel. No one replied to an email I sent before arrival.
Very comfortable bed. Everything I needed in the room. Reasonably quiet on top floor. Miserable outlook at rear but I wasn’t there for the view! No staff on site at the hotel. All digital which worked. The breakfast at Ann & Max cafe was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had. Delightful place.

United Kingdomit's worth noting that the stairs are quite narrow.
The room at Cosy Pillow is not only spacious and well-arranged but also remarkably quiet, offering a serene atmosphere for a relaxing stay. The hotel provides numerous thoughtful amenities and personal touches, such as the welcoming presence of incense. Situated right in the heart of charming Utrecht's town center, the boutique hotel enjoys proximity to an array of bars, restaurants, and shops, making it an ideal location for exploring the vibrant surroundings. One standout highlight for me was the exceptional breakfast experience at Anne & Max. The breakfast, cooked fresh and served with a smile, stands out as one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. This alone makes a stay at Cosy Pillow memorable. Given the overall positive experience, I am looking forward to booking a night at Cosy Pillow on my next visit to Utrecht.
