Unfortunately, after collecting the keys on behalf of my in-laws in the late afternoon, we went back to the hotel that evening and while opening the room assigned, someone else was already in the room. There is no 24/7 reception in place, so no one was there to solve the situation on spot at 11pm. I had to call the number provided in the booking reservation and explain the situation. Fortunately, the person I spoked to was very apologetic and managed to solve the issue by giving us access to another room and explain that the person that checked us in, gave us the wrong keys. Mistakes can happen, and the situation was solved promptly, but surely it was not nice to experience. Nonetheless, I have already made another reservation for next month for my parents to stay at the same hotel. I am sure this was just an unfortunate mistake that won't happen again.

I booked two rooms on behalf of my in-laws visiting from abroad. This review is based on their experience: Very charming and characteristic hotel located in the center of Blaricum. Restaurant at the location was very tasty, good food, good wines and good prices. Waiters were very professional and kind. The rooms were clean, bright, very spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and toiletries. Beds were very comfortable. Quiet location with lots of nature around, yet very close to other cities like Bussum, Laren and Hilversum.

The breakfast is very poor and expensive. And the stairs are really a problem - there is no elevator and we had to take our luggage to our room via dangerous narrow stairs.

acoustic insulation is not very strong so you hear noise from the street, neighbours and kitchen (if room is located above). to be borne in line if you are a light sleeper. suggestion for breakfast: fresh fruit would be a great addition.

great small scale hotel in a beautiful part of the Netherlands that totally surprised us! rooms are spacious and clean, both dinner and breakfast at the hotel were delicious (although price of dinner somewhat elevated at 20+ € per main dish).

Fabulous little hotel in a fabulous location in a fabulous village. The village of Blaricum is to die for, quaint and beautiful. The hotel's location right next to a huge park and a free village car park is outstanding. The hotel itself has a lovely terrace for when the weather is good, and a cosy restaurant and beautiful garden room for when it isn't. The people are lovely, the breakfast very good and the wine list decent. Our room was in the attic on the second floor and therefore a bit cramped, which was the only downside. We did bang our heads against the joists a few times. But the beds were probably the most comfortable we've ever experienced in a hotel, which does make a big difference. The shower was good, too.

Some staff where most unfriendly one in particular had a really bad attitude to guests. You where treated as an inconvenience at the check-in process. You are eventually checked in by restaurant staff at the bar. We waited over an hour for our food. We asked to see the desert menu but it never arrived. No soft seat area for guests. And the breakfast is poor. All in all we would not stay here again.

They don't have bath in all the rooms. The door doesn't isolate the sounds from the outside. When people walk and talk in the hallway you could hear it loudly.

I liked the old style of the hotel. Above of that the location was fantastic.
