Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI did a lot of research to find a room with a balcony overlooking a canal and a king sized bed. This (the Honeymoon Suite) was perfect. The view was wonderful, and everything is very nice from the furniture to the decorations. When we return to Amsterdam we hope to stay here again.

United StatesYou need to be aware that their is no lift and steep stairs to the room. They were helpful with taking our luggage.
The host was great and very helpful. The house built in the late 1800's has an interesting history and he has written a book about it. The room was comfortable and we liked using the kitchenette for breakfast before going out for the day. The location is a 15 minute tram ride from Dam Square.

United StatesIt's not what we didn't like, but what renters should be aware of. This unit is on the fourth floor and the stairs are quite steep and tight. The location is amazing, but it's also tucked away so easy to pass it by.
This room is in an open, comfortable, and has a great view of the canals. The bed and bathrooms are larger than we see in other European hotel rooms. Most especially the host, Focco, is a true gem. His passion for the house and for Amsterdam are unmatched.

South AfricaThe basement apartment we stayed in is the smallest and a bit cramped for a family of four but fine in all other regards.
Good location, central, easy walking distance of museums and parks and to trams for public transport. Lovely modernised house with character and history. Very friendly and accommodating host, he even offered me his office to take an important call.

CanadaI don't feel it was worth €400 per night, especially as the bathtub was dirty when we first arrived. Also, the construction noise in the mornings wasn't appreciated.
Very beautiful, spacious room overlooking a canal in a quieter part of Amsterdam.

United StatesDutch stairs are a challenge for a lot of us, but that isn’t a specific criticism of Amstel Corner. Just be prepared for lengthy, curving stairs. If you have mobility issues, this might be a challenge.
True historic Amsterdam property, right at the southern corner of the city center - close enough for convenience, far enough to get away from the crowds. The Dream Room has a great balcony overlooking the quiet inner courtyard. Very comfortable bed, and small kitchen area - perfect for a solo traveler. Amstel Corner Hotel is really more of a pension situation. The owner is lovely and helpful, but this is best suited for independent travelers who need a safe, reliable place to stay while exploring.

United StatesStairs to upper floors were very steep, more so than it appeared in photos. But the lower level room worked well for my elderly relatives.
In a great location, close to everything. Spacious compared to most places we’ve seen, with everything we needed. The staff were lovely and accommodating.

United StatesBed is two twin mattresses held together by a sheet. Left a difficult sleeping position. Stairs are steep, but expected. Didn't bother us being in young 20s. Minor inconveniences compared to the rest of the stay.
The property was very nice and a perfect stay for our time in Amsterdam. Location is fantastic on the river and very cute room with nice facilities. Wonderful, kind, and helpful host who helped us get luggage up the narrow stairs and allowed us to store it, and even brought up a vase for some flowers on our arrival. Great stay at this property and would recommend to anyone.

The place is located in a privileged location, it is within walking distance of the most important points of interest. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and with personality. In addition, the house has a history that the owner shares with every guest in a book he offers for free. In a few words, this is an excellent accommodation option in Amsterdam
