Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast was pretty basic and not great. Buffet style but many things had run out if you were later down. The service in the restaurant wasn’t great either and once items ordered, were told they weren’t available. The Chinese restaurant downstairs wasn’t bad for dinner. Also the fact there’s only a small dark area next to the lobby that you can have a beer, not with lunch or by the pool isn’t very tourist friendly, especially considering it’s the main tourist hotel.
We booked last minute and the only room available for our stay was an executive suite. It was a nice spacious room which was great but expensive for Sabah and the facilities/service. The pool was great though and was what made it tbh.

United Kingdomthe location is out-of-town (you can only eat and drink at the hotel) - the main restaurant food is good (drinks are expensive) - but the on-site chinese restaurant was awful ..
This is definitely a four-star hotel based on hotel appearance, pool & gym, and breakfast (as well as the professionalism of the hotel manager to correct any issues !!) - Junior Suite was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed / however the shower was weak and the cable television was intermittent - also the spacious balcony had no shade and broken deck furniture - overall a relaxing stop-over hotel

AustraliaWe ordered lunch in the plantation café and it took over an hour to come out. They took 45 minutes to let me know my option wasn't available. The pool was amazing but while we were there they had a big Ramadan dinner on each night. It really affected my asthma and it was uncomfortable swimming in front of the Muslim dinners. The hotel is beautiful but very dated, the room was very 70s and it is out of the way, you will need to get a taxi into the town or walk 15 minutes. The beer was incredibly over priced.
The pool was amazing. The bathroom had a bath and separate shower. The hotel is beautiful in the jungle but dated. Breakfast was amazing, the omelette station was good.

MaltaThe hotel needs an upgrade. Just the decor is dated. I am sure that a refurbishment is done it will be stunning.
The rooms are very large and spacious bathroom. Bed super big and comfortable. Pillows are great. TV Channels in English too. We had a massage and it was really good. The Chinese restaurant at the hotel is really worth it and good value for money.

AustraliaI should come when Ramadan is not on. It got very busy in the restaurants. I didn't feel comfortable to swim in the pool surrounded by Muslim people in full dress (and knowing their views on modesty).
Comfortable room, room service, sense of space, very friendly service - they let me know that between me and my guide who planned most of my trip we had double booked - they were planning to sort it out.

United KingdomWiFi - we booked after some rural stays without internet, my daughter is 14 and cannot live without internet for too long!! unfortunately, it was really poor and despite being moved to a room we hoped would have a better connection, it still didn’t quite cut it. But we would stay again and just get a local sim

NetherlandsThe restaurant couldn’t help us properly for a vegetarian meal. We had to send back 2 times a “vegeterian dish” because there was chicken in it. The 3th dish had pork in it but they said it was vegetarian pork. Doubting it…

AustraliaThe only thing would be breakfast was always quite cold.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles. We felt instantly relaxed and safe. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are a good size, beds and linen super comfy. It has aged a little but very well kept. The staff an absolute stand out especially the Bell captain. Nothing was too difficult. Tours were easily accessible. Massage was great. We would love to return one day.
