The resort is not well furnished and needs a strong maintenance. The rooms are poor and very dirty (sheets, towels ..). The food is not tasty at all and the same goes for the bbq. The staff is too unexperienced without senior management. Staying here is too expensive for the services/ facilities provided.

The Pir is located in the most beautiful beach of the big island. Since 5 mt from the beach it is possible to swim with turtles, baby sharks and a lot of wonderful fishes. The hotel is in the middle of nature with typical animals like snakes, monkeys, squirrels. During our stay we wanted to discover many beaches and the presence of taxi boats services was a must! Staying at Pir means a full immersion in the nature and the culture of the Malaysians!

Huge amount of boats with day trippers just at the hotel entrance. I see it as management issue. The beach is huge and boats could bring day trippers elsewhere. Yet they bring them just outside of the hotel entrance. This makes your stay noisy and unpleasant. During our stay there were not enough sun lounges as the hotel discontinued old wooden ones as unsafe and the new ones did not arrive (at least that was what we were told).

While the beach is truly amazing and the main reason to visit, the rest of the property is outdated and poorly maintained. Our room, though cute, was full of dust and not well cared for. It’s unfortunate because with a bit more attention to cleanliness, like changing the stained, worn linens, this place could be perfect. Also, be aware that there's no Wi-Fi, and given the remote location, an internet connection might be necessary."

We had an amazing stay with direct access to probably the best beach on the island. You can see turtles, baby sharks, and fish swimming just a few steps from the shore. Our room offered a stunning sea view, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful.

The rooms and the structure are dated and in need of renovation and a more attentive maintenance. The buffet and breakfast didn't meet my expectations, the food wasn't high quality. Considering the price we paid I'd say the hotel doesn't offer good value for money.

The position is perfect, the room was big and the bathroom quite comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they arranged our transfer back to mainland.

Accommodation was not clean on arrival (dirty bathroom). Cottages are clustered and the walls are very thin, so you could hear the neighbours very well (especially with a small child). Mattress is thin and hard. Bathroom is very small, smelly and has mold. The whole resort is a bit worn down and has seen better times.

The location of the resort in great!! Restaurant (breakfast, buffet and a la cart dinner) is okay. Staff is friendly and tries to do their best, but is a bit young/inexperienced.

Location is fabulous! Best thing about the PIR is the beach- wonderful, clean and amazing sea life. Stingrays, sharks, coral, abundance of fish. Great snorkling experience!

All the hotel area is dirty and clearly not well mantained. The sunbeds on the beach are mostly broken. Overall, the hotel is too pricy for what it offers.

The location is on a very nice beach, where you can se turtles, little sharks and rays just swimming in front of the hotel. We had a room with sea view which was very nice. breakfast is ok.

The room was a bit pricey at RM522 per room. The signage for jungle trekking should provide more information like the distance (in KM) or Time for the trekking to reach the other side (35-45 minutes) and what is the destination (Arwana Resort)

There didn't seem to be a la carte options at the resturant and the buffet whilst OK seemed lack-lustre.

Had trouble locking the door to our room. Loads and loads of ants in our room. The room wasn't particularly clean - I had to clean out my bedside draw which had hair and dust from previous guests. My bedding also had lots of stains. Breakfast was OK but lots of flies by the food.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Location was beautiful, gorgeous beach. quite quiet surroundings. It didn't feel like there were too many people around, which was nice. It was so lovely to be near nature - we loved the monitor lizards. The view from our balcony looked over the lake!

There were communication difficulties with staff members when organising transfers (boat trips were quite stressful for us too because of the weather but the hotel has nothing to do with it). When I was trying to organise something special for my husbands birthday the receptionist said that they can't offer anything and only manager can help me but he is not around, and to answer my email it took around a week and it was, of course, past the day already. The swimming pool was under maintenance. The area around houses was not clean. Had to pay for the lifejackets.

Me and my husband stayed in PIR for more than a week and absolutely enjoyed our time there! We had a nice comfortable room close to the beach and the restaurant, facilities were good (AC, water heating were working good), comfortable bed. The location of PIR is just amazing! We took all the snorkelling tours available but the best place we snorkelled was just right next to the beach. Although the restaurant is not the best it offers really tasty bbq (on bbq days) and tasty Kuey teow!

Structure that requires ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, both in the common areas and in the rooms. Rooms with poorly organized spaces, room finishes/furnishings that need fixing, restaurant that could be improved in variety, quality and service, old/broke beach loungers and mattresses. Swimming pool left disused as well tennis court I believe that if money were invested to improve everything, a slightly higher price would also be justified to amortize these expenses. Currently the price is high for the offer, save the vote and justifies the price, but not completely, only the location/beach and relative tranquility of the place

The pool was closed for renervation with no notification of this, wasn't really required as the sea was cristal clear and a perfect tempriture. I wanted to go snorkling but the group was fully booked, so make sure you book in advance. the food is mainly a buffet but there is an alacart menu. Also it a none achol resourt

Uncomfortable mattress woke up with a back ache everyday, Not a lot of facilities at the resort - swimming pool was under construction, AC was not cooling fast had to leave it on for atleast an hour or so for the room to cool down before we return to the room, behind rooms did not seem as value for money would suggest to book the beachfront rooms to get full value of the stay

The hotel is located on a small but beautiful stretch of beach on the island. You have to be aware that long beach walks or excursions without the use of boats are almost impossible. Diving and snorkelling are on offer, the beach itself is quiet and clean. The breakfast is sufficient, the evening menu manageable and expensive by local standards. Alternatively, there is the neighbouring resort. In general, the resort shows its age and the rear bungalows are rather modest (size and facilities). The staff are helpful, the bottom line is: you can do it.

The pool was unexpectedly undergoing renovations, a detail that was not previously communicated. However, aside from that, everything else was excellent.

The resort is conveniently positioned in a lovely spot, merely 50 feet from the beach. The dining choices are appealing, and the room provided ample space for two individuals, with a balcony offering a serene garden vista. Breakfast offerings were varied and satisfying.

The resort needs some renovation. Pool is closed for renovation, we didnt know it while arriving. Juices are filled with water, coffee is not good.
