Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast is a set menu with a selection of options - Asian, pancakes, eggs sandwich. What we had was actually pretty good, but it wasn't flexible enough to accommodate picky eaters - maybe having the option to have something very plain - toast, boiled egg, fruit would be a good addition. The room is a little dark because it's a heritage hotel with shutters - you won't wake up to natural light. We had our own teabags and powdered milk which was lucky because only '3-in-1' coffee sachets is provided in the rooms.
The location is great - an easy walk to places of interest and cafes, and the hotel is beautiful. We had a family room which had a sitting area and then up some stairs the bedroom and bathroom (with two showers and two toilets!). The space and layout was good. The hotel has a dipping pool which our children enjoyed. It's a good length and up to mid-thigh / top of my leg. So not really big enough for an adult to swim but somewhere that children can cool off after a day walking about. We had an issue with the air-conditioning in the sleeping area not working, and the hotel staff were quick to look into in and change our room.

MalaysiaWe didn’t realised that the pool is only suitable for a younger kids and it’s just infront of the dining area.
Museum Hotel is located near the famous eateries in the heart of Georgetown, for that reason we thought the hotel should excluded the breakfast. Our family room was excellent (and we were only booked just for one night since it’s a little pricey if you compared to other boutique hotels around the area.

MalaysiaAmbience and location was right smack in Georgetown. That's definitely a plus point. Breakfast was fabulous. Although there were limited choices, it was very good. Negative point was that the rooms had no view, so felt claustrophobic. Overall satisfyingly good.

AustraliaMy double bed room was fine for a solo traveller but would be too small for two people.
Great location in Georgetown within walking distance to all the main places of interest. The staff were very friendly, and the reception was attended 24 hours. The pool was cute but it’s really a kids pool. A la carte breakfast was delicious and so was the coffee.

AustraliaThe swimming pool is a deception. The restaurant was only open for breakfast but I think they might be open at other times but not advertised. It would help if the hotel invested in something so simple as a brochure rack - only one was available and you need to ask the front desk.
When I saw the Longman Room I thought I’d try it, so unusually large, and the colonial heritage style looked interesting. George Town these days seems to be overloaded with so-called heritage places. The place worked but the renovations are still clearly work in progress. But there were issues. The AC was bit iffy at times and the swimming pool is more of an ornamental pond than a pool. The breakfast was fine and the staff excellent. It was close to quite a few sites and restaurants.
