beds were a bit grimy, one set of plugs for the entire dorm, bunks were squeaky, bathrooms/kitchen not the cleanest, but honestly didn't bother us too much.

cheap and cheerful, definitely don't expect luxury but we slept well and there was plenty space to sit, free coffee, really close to bus station/food/shops, helpful staff. Great value for cheap.

Bathroom is not in a very good condition, but acceptable. Wifi not very strong near where I stayed and disconnects most of the time during the day.

Fully stocked coffee/tea in the kitchen. Central to all area within the city, few blocks away to Bus Terminal. Helpful staff at the counter. Picked up the room. Got both wall fan and an aircond. Locker and comfy bed. Fresh towel and bed linen. Best bang for your buck.

50% of the blind in the dorm is missing. Unless you own an eye mask you face a very early wake up call. I arrived during appropriate check in hours, I rang the bell and received no response. On the front door are 3 numbers you're instructed to call in the event you require someone's attention and are having trouble entering the premises. Not a single one of them worked! Thankfully the receptionist returned to her desk and I was able to enter. The message writing on the wall is a nice touch, but it's not much of a suprise the flattering comments are from several years ago. The sofas aren't so nice to sit on and you can forget about the TV working. The free sliced bread is a nice touch, what would be great is if you can also provide a toaster.

The place is old and tired and not very clean, there is litter and dust under the beds. The sheets don't really fit on the mattresses. The bathrooms are disgusting, but that is normal for Malaysia... wet floor, wet toilet seat ( why not just lift up the toilet seat when taking a shower? SO stupid! 🙄) Disgusting shared flip flops for the bathroom... the whole shoe thing in Malaysia seems designed to give you some horrible flesh eating disease 🤢 BUT... for the price... if you want cheap budget, it's not the worst.

There is a kitchen with free coffee. The WiFi works really good, even in the street. The staff are nice.

There wasn't any good filtered water dispenser (needs one eg Coway). The fridge needs to be cleaned occasionally and stale, left behind food/drinks disposed of.

It was a short 10min walk to the wet market, local bus station and food stalls. Also there is a big Saturday night market and Sunday morning market outside the UTC nearby. Staff are nice and helpful. There's a kitchenette with fridge, stove, kettle, tea/coffee as well as a living room area. The room was small but comfortable.

Strong WiFi since I have an urgent task to settle during the stay, this the main point of my choice besides price. The room has air-conditioning which is very convenient as the weather is scorching 🥵 hot outside. The location has no noise pollution at night, I've been to other places with worse conditions.

The beds didn't really have a lot of privacy (no curtain) and they creaked a lot. The water pressure sucks, but they have somewhat successfully tried to compensate for this. There are no lights or power outlets directly by your bed.

The people working there are very nice and willing to help you with any question you might have. You can see that in its hayday this was a very social hostel, but now it was empty.

There was almost nobody staying there, but that is because the low inflow of travelers since COVID so not really the fault of the establishment. The mattress wasn't comfortable at all, the mattress cover was too tiny and just fell off easily and the bed itself creaked a lot everytime I turned. Also, there were only two power outlets for the whole dorm of 10 people.

The people working here are absolutely lovely! The Hostel is very well located. You could definitely see that the hostel was very popular in its hayday. The Internet connection is very fast.
