Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

AustraliaSome nights were incredibly noisy. Guests seem to have no consideration for those trying to sleep. Some nights the shouting and yelling would go on until 2 or 3 in the morning. The walls between rooms seem to be paper thin and the hotel doesn’t appear to have any restrictions placed on guests who want to create noise at any hour. This was not just an isolated group. We stayed 3 weeks and most nights, one or more rooms were rowdy. Everything else about the hotel was good but this issue would be a deal breaker for us in future.

United KingdomThe aircon was positioned directly over the bed. At around 12.30/1 am it became too cold having the aircon directly on us and just wouldn't shut off. We spent half an hour trying to shut it off before my husband had to throw on his clothing and go downstairs to get help from a member of staff.
cute Armenian hotel in the perfect location, central to everything. Comfy bed. Large room and bathroom. Staff were accommodating and helpful. Would book again if i were to come to penang again (which i doubt).

AustraliaA very noisy hotel. The landings and passage-ways on each floor echo noise loudly. Plumbing noise from neighboring rooms is enough to wake you up, as is the neighbors snoring.

MalaysiaThere was a division in the bedroom with a locked door (lock was broken so we opened to check) where the compressor of the air conditioner was located. That space was all flooded with dark coloured water. It seemed to us to be a dirty and mouldy space. We felt very uneasy as its wall was just near to our bed.
The room is bigger than many hotel rooms for the same price.

Wood flooring (no carpets please), wooden headrest for the beds, wooden framed TV and firetruck bunk bed. The size of the room. Proper 3 in 1 coffees of good quality and not some simply cheap Brad of coffee. Spacious and clean lobby with lots of clean cushioned seating. Airy.

MalaysiaI complained about the aircond which was warm. They got it fixed the first night but the second day the aircond was warm again. I complained but I guess that aircond was already faulty and it was blowing warm air. Not comfortable to sleep in a warm room.
