KuwaitI recently had the pleasure of staying at Ambong Rainforest Retreat in Langkawi. I booked the Canopy Studio, and waking up to the incredible sea views right from the middle of the jungle was an experience I’ll never forget. The staff at Ambong were absolutely wonderful. They were so friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Their warmth and attentiveness made me feel incredibly welcome and well taken care of throughout my stay. The breakfast was included. I loved the breakfast at the Rimba Restaurant. The breakfast was included and offered a variety of options, whether you prefer Malaysian or Western food. They also have another restaurants serves vegan food in the reception area. The spa was fantastic too. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful getaway with excellent service and an amazing spa, I can’t recommend Ambong Rainforest Retreat enough. It’s a little piece of paradise, and I can’t wait to go back!

It's a long steep walk to the room, fortunately there is a shuttle service which comes quite quickly to shuttle you to room and restaurant, or from bottom of hill to top Breakfast - limited options for breakfast, and very long wait time for food to be served. But food was good quality and juice was fresh. Although we were served moldy bread one day which was soon changed for fresh bread. Lighting - room was very dim! Needs better lighting
Staff - very friendly staff who were always willing to help Room was cleaned regularly. One day we had bugs come into the room the next day they put in 2 mosquito coils in the room + smoke on the balcony and the big problem was solved straight away. Friendliest and most helpful staff of any hotel we have ever stayed in. Very accommodating to any needs Atmosphere - nice to be in the rainforest away from the hustle and bustle, a unique experience. Decor and vibe in the accomodation is nice.

But I’m Sure the amazing staff would drive you up the hill if a problem Bit of noise from Dash beach club. Not these guys fault at all . Just wish dash would dash off

- the hotel itself is just incredible. I took the best suite at the top and it was a once in a lifetime experience, and that is what you are paying for. - staff are incredibly helpful; always at hand to assist; use instant messaging through whatsapp; never have to worry about climbing the steep steps as a driver is always ready to assist within minutes! - staff assisted with my request to putting the blinds down in the evenings and back up in the mornings, this reduced the monkey noises at night for no interruptions to sleep. - whilst fasting, staff helped to organise my morning meals with a full selection of choices which was much appreciated. - the spa ritual was so peaceful and really helped relax the entire body.

Stunning room set in jungle canopy overlooking beach and sea. Large outdoor space able to watch family of dusky leaf monkeys in canopy. Amazing. Bird song. Incredible staff to pick you up and whi drive you to restaurant or beach. Kindest most caring hotel staff every had pleasure of meeting. There could be no possible criticism of this small bespoke resort , for luxury and nature. Highly recommend s3 room. 3rd floor of 3 rooms with outdoor wooden bath

The location is wonderful, right in the forest but also a short walk from the beach. We saw so many animals from our balcony or other parts of the hotel (including dusky leaf monkeys and giant squirrels). The food was excellent, both the vegan breakfasts at the Rainforest Retreat and at the Pool Villas restaurant). The staff were helpful and on hand to give lifts up the hill or to the other property as needed.

A tranquil piece of heaven tucked away in nature. The property is quiet and peaceful. It is easily accessible by Grab and is conveniently located close to a number of restaurants and bars. The staff are all extremely kind and welcoming and make you feel right at home. The in-house restaurants serve great food with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Especially the Rimba restaurant with its fantastic terrace for dinner is to be emphasized. The pool and the forest invite you to relax and the monkeys make you smile. We would especially like to thank Raj for his warm support in all matters, such as the valuable tips for the island and all the trips through the very steep resort. We could always rely on him. Malaysiathe road leading to the guess house too stiff , very tough for elderly people like us to climb / walk from the carpark near reception building the room picture shown in booking .com very misleading, they shown the reception building picture as guess room (open concept timber house building) so we though that is our guess house but the guess house is concrete house, the swimming pool very small 3 level guess house with stiff staircase very tough to climb from one room to another for elderly ppl like us ( one room at upper ground another room at lower ground ) we leave our luggage at living entrance coz unable to carry the luggage to our room we will stay at Ambong villa for our next visit coz that is single storey building with private pool which is more suitable for elderly ppl like us
the unit is big and complete with kitchen utensil, all corners very clean. all the staffs very friendly and helpful (assist us to send our luggage to the guess house) the hot water system at one of the bathroom does not work, the maintenance staff response & rectified it immediately the al carte breakfast very good & nice the natural jungle with sunset scenery very nice, we love it very much
