Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We stayed 7 nights in this beautifully decorated boutique hotel. Front desk is 24h . All staff was extremely nice and helpful in any requests, including trips arrangements. Breakfast was light with bread toast, coffee and fruits plate, but free and enough to start the day. Beds with extremely comfortable mattresses and gorgeous duck feater filled comforter. Water and coffee maker. TV had tens of cable channels on Spanish and English. Very close to center pedestrian streets with tens of restaurants, Cafe shops. Highly recommend with the best value in whole México. Thank you so much!

United StatesIt would have been nice to have kitchen towels and dish soap. There were 3 of us staying with a set of 4 for dishes. Since we ate in a meal a day and made coffee in the mornings and tea in the afternoon, we usually needed to wash some dishes, so I bought a dish towel and soap. They did do our dishes once a day. It is 4 blocks to town so if you can't walk, you'll need to take a taxi to get to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast they provided was a piece of toast and thin slices of fruit. If you wanted more, you had to pay for it. We bought things at the market and did our own breakfast of grilled cheese, fruit and yogurt.
The beds were very comfortable. I loved having a fireplace to keep the chill off. They gave you 4 pieces of wood and you had to pay for more, which we did most nights. They also provided heaters which were necessary too. The gardens were lovely. We enjoyed having a dining table to sit at for meals and to play games. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed walking the neighborhood and exploring different routes to town.

AustraliaWe loved this hotel! It was beautiful. Our room was stunning with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden - the facilities were great and the location was perfect. It was a little out of town - about a five minute walk to the zocalo, but that made it very quiet. The people at the hotel were also great - very friendly and helpful. It was perfect.

United StatesWe knew this when we booked - there is a turkey farm next door and they wake up early. We just used ear plugs at night and it didn’t bother us, but it would have surprised us if we hadn’t read about it ahead of time. It didn’t diminish our stay, but something people should know if they are sensitive to early morning turkey alarms.
The location is perfect! It’s close to the main square and walking streets but far enough away for it to be quiet at night. Just down the street is a delicious bakery and many other good places to eat just a 7 minute walk away. Around the corner are both the jade and chocolate museums which are very interesting and our stay included complementary tickets for both. We also caught a collectivo to Arcotete just 2 blocks from the hotel. Overall super convenient! The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace made it cozy. The garden is very pleasant. We had breakfast included - you get to choose from a small selection of dishes including a sandwich, pancakes, chilaquiles, or scrambled eggs with either vegetables or chorizo. The food was simple but good, and a very convenient way to start the day - we would go have breakfast first thing and discuss plans for the day over our coffee. The woman who was at the front desk each of the mornings we stayed was especially kind and helpful. No problems with wifi.

MexicoThe WiFi was spotty, as has been mentioned by other guests for some time now. Kitchen lacked equipment. No dish towel. One small skillet and no saucepan. Generally quite clean but the unit could use a periodic, deeper cleaning.
Nice, 7-unit property with a good restaurant and wonderful interior courtyard. Staff members were very helpful and courteous. Comfortable seating in kitchen and living room. Appreciated the electric heater.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we didn’t get the room we booked, we got free dinner instead. Note that for breakfast, which are included, they allow you to pick one item from the menu. it was fine by us but may be a problem for someone who loves big breakfast. food was very good.
