Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The hotel has a wonderful vibe. It’s situated high on a hill with great views over the city. The pool and villas give the place the feel of a resort. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly. We didn’t try the restaurant, as we preferred to walk the 20 minutes into town to get breakfast/dinner.

United States of AmericaFood was always good and having a pool was a plus. Staff was friendly and caring. We were in HV in 2019 and my parents loved it, so when we returned to Oax, it was a must to book the hotel.

United States of AmericaThe pool could be better maintained. If the hotel fixes the broken tiles, it would make the pool much more inviting. I would have rested the hotel a 9.
The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and big. The ground was beautiful. Our room facing away from the street had a nice view of the forest and mountain. It was quiet. I had the best sleep there on my entire three weeks in Mexico. There is a wonderful Indian restaurant Senor Naan less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. It was so good we had dinner and then lunch the next day. Costa Benito run by a lovely family is an amazing, beautiful, authentic Oaxacan restaurant up on a hill behind the hotel. It's only an 11 minute walk but requires climbing a long, steep hill. Either need to be in good shape or best to take a taxi. The Chicatana (name of a flying ant specy that is an ingredient in the dish) was one of my favorite dishes on our trip. Very tasty! I learned after from our tour guide that there aren't many restaurants that serve the dish because it is labor intensive and difficult to make it taste good. So we were lucky the restaurant was by the hotel.

United KingdomWe underestimated the effort to get here from the centre, because it's a bit uphill. But a cab is about 5 usd, so it wasn't trouble.
Attentive staff, clean and comfy beds. Overall it's a nice place on a quiet hill, and the view from our room was pretty.

MexicoToo far from the center of town. No mini fridge in the room. Limited shuttle to the center of town. Only breakfast option was a Buffay. They should have better access to drinking water for their guests.
The staff was really nice and helpful, taxes were easy to take when the shuttle wasn’t available.

United Kingdomthe hotel's locaion is a bt out of it and you have to walk along main roads/v quiet streets at night, to get to the hotel . Breakfast isn't included unless you want to pay for the weekend brunch deal
My bed was so comfy and I loved my room that was right near the hotel's beautiful swimming pool. I was so sad to be here only one night as the swimming pool was simply fantastic. The bar overlooking the city was also nice.

CanadaNot the level of service we're accustomed to in Mexico. Poor service in the restaurant in particular and the food wasn't great.
The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is a beautiful grand dame. She could use a bit of updating.

United States of AmericaDecent room in need of some updates (super confusing shower controls, dated decor, uncomfortable balcony furniture). The pool was nice, but no amenities. Had to search for a server to order drinks. All in all, you could see how this was once a wonderful property, but it all seems a little dated, and the location up a steep hill makes walking from Centro difficult.

United KingdomCheck in could have been more helpful we wanted 2 beds in a standard room but were refused. We had to upgrade and pay more for another room. Transport into town was very infrequent. Not very helpful running only hourly.
Breakfast was amazing. Pool was lovely but a little cold. Staff at the door were super helpful with bags and taxis. All staff very friendly and helpful.

CanadaWe found the restaurant to be over priced and the food mediocre. A suggestion for improvement would be to have a small refridgerator in each room.
We liked most everything about our stay. The entire property is clean, staff are professional and friendly, the beds are very comfortable and we enjoyed the view of the city.

CanadaThere was a highway near the hotel which was a bit noisy from the location of our room. It was not noticeable with the patio door closed. It was a bit far from the downtown area so we had to take a taxi to leave and return to the hotel. You probably could have walked to the city center and taken a taxi back but it was hot when we were there.
The staff were very friendly and always willing ty help. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

AustraliaI thought this hotel would be nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle, and it was (the pool area is beautifully serene during the day), however this was ruined by loud music / dj coming from the restaurant / bar area later at night (even though I was on the 3rd and highest floor). It was so loud I couldn't sleep - I thought I was booking a hotel room not a nightclub!! Otherwise had a great stay, but this aspect really detracted.
Great pool and gardens, amazing views over the city, peaceful location but still not too far to walk to the centre of everything!
