Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsAt arrival the hotel was very full so we were given a room in what felt like the basement, with very low ceiling and not so comfortable. The next day we were told we could change rooms. This room was on the second floor and so much better. It would have been nice to know beforehand.
Location is perfect for visiting Uxmal and the Puuc route, it is a very short distance driving. Staff in the restaurant is very friendly. Pool area with the parasols and beds is very nice.

FranceThe hotel is overall just okay but significantly overpriced. This includes the restaurant, where dinner and breakfast were both too expensive for the quality provided. Despite the large rooms and convenient location, the high prices were not justified by the level of amenities and services offered. The pool and the location do not fully compensate for it.
Uxmal Resort Maya offers accommodations that meet basic Mexican standards. The hotel is conveniently located just 3 km from the archaeological site, making it an easy walk for those who want to go to the site by walk. We recommend visiting the site around 3 pm, just before closing time. During our visit in May, the temperatures were unbearably hot, but this time of day was slightly cooler and much less crowded. After exploring the ruins, we found the hotel’s pool to be a perfect place to relax and cool off. The rooms are spacious and equipped with air conditioning, and ours had a lovely view of the Uxmal ruins in the distance.

FranceNo Wi-Fi in the rooms. No fridge. the air conditioning makes a hellish noise.
Hotel close to the Mayan site of Uxmal, but far from any city activity: the closest town (15 km) is Santa Helena. Difficult to eat somewhere in the evening except at the hotel. welcoming and friendly staff. free parking on site.

United KingdomThe place needs a bit of tlc but to be honest it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the stay.
Lovely big room with a very large balcony and a view of the pool and surrounding areas. Easy access to the ruins - I could walk there. The weather was not too good but I did manage one swim in the pool. Pool area is very attractive. Food pretty average as I would expect for this type of hotel.

HungaryOnly thing missing was a drying rack for our wet towels and clothes. But each room had a large balcony, we used the bar to hang our staff.
Excellent location, accessible directly from the main road, however very quiet, being in a nice natural environment, out of the populated area. Just a 3 minutes drive from Uxmal ruins and 25 minutes from Kabah ruins. Room was spacious, well maintained and clean, with huge windows facing the pool area. Beds were extra comfy and here we had a normal bathroom where water stayed well inside the shower and not floaded evetything :) Even if in the middle of the January main season, there were only a few guests (could not find the reason why, it is really a great place to stay), it was very familial, quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent, freshly made from eggs, ham/bacon, american pencakes. Toasts, butter and jams were served in addition. I regret we did not stay for an extra day just to relax and enjoy the beautiful pool area.

PolandThe hotel was great for our purpose: one night close to Uxmal archeological site. But it was also so close to the place of interest that we were able to visit chocolate museum and planetarium nearby. Hotel is rather big resort but the staff is friendly an very well organized and check-in and -out is very quick. If you have a room on upper floors - you have a beautiful view on the forest. The standard of rooms and facilities is basic but everything is clean and working. Very good choice.

United KingdomThe hotel did look a bit tired, could do with a paint, the restaurant was a more like a cafeteria with all the tables and the bright lights. And I paid £25 for a massage that wasn’t very good.
Incredible location with jaw dropping views over the jungle to Uxmal. Lovely big pool and garden area. The room was lovely, really big, comfortable and clean. The food was good, and the staff were pleasant.

United StatesThe entrance area looked pretty run down so it scared me at first. WiFi did not work inside the room, but was great in the pool area and on my balcony. The downstairs dining room has depressing blue fluorescent lighting and huge tables of tour groups giving it all the ambiance of a nursing home cafeteria. (Hint: ask to have your meal at a palapa table out by the pool.). The pool itself has flaking paint so it may look off putting at first, but appeared to be properly maintained and was quite enjoyable.
Gorgeously landscaped pool area, views of the Uxmal pyramids from the top floor rooms, reasonable food and drink prices. Nicely renovated bathroom. This place is not perfect, but if you want a great pool and can get a good rate, jump on it. It is quite a good value if you are okay with a 1970s-era hotel that is only partly renovated.
