Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyTraffic noise, kitchen noise.
the rooms were nice, big and clean. The balcony faces the street so it's very noise. It has an ocean view. Unfortunately we were under the kitchen, rooftop restaurant and it was noisy on two of the three nights. the restaurant was the best food and hospitality.

United StatesBreakfast that was included with the room was definitely delicious! It comes with omelette, beans, toasts, tortillas, yogurt, fresh fruits, butter, jam, and your choice of drink. The room was huge with plenty of space and it’s equipped with a microwave, fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. The view from the room and the rooftop was amazing. Monkey Beach which has off the dock/shore snorkeling is located right across the street from the hotel. All of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Their pool and palapa area is perfect for relaxing. The pool’s depth was perfect and the water temperature was always comfortable too. Motorcycle rental was available at 500 pesos each day (not including insurance). Taxi to downtown/centro/ferry terminal should cost about 80-100 pesos. One thing to note: there’s a nightclub located almost directly across the street that plays loud music until about 2 am. I slept fine and my partner used ear plugs and slept fine. I highly recommend staying at Albatross if you’re visiting Cozumel!

PortugalNothing really. We liked the breakfast but could have a few more options. Still it was quite good. We had two double beds but for double bed it was a bit on the smaller side. Still would book again!

United StatesTheir stuff was so friendly and kind. Especially Brian was super kind. We definitely come back this place next time. Also the location was good too. Every activity that we did starts in the front of the hotels . (Clear boat and El Cielo). There was Tour coordinator across the street. You can order most of tour.

United StatesUnless you sleep like a rock, don’t expect to get a good nights rest here. It is right across the street from a club that blares music until 3a. It was so loud that I could hear the words through headphones with white noise. Once the music stopped we could hear everything other people at the hotel were doing- apparently moving furniture, slamming doors, and dropping everything they brought with them at early hours of the morning. We were exhausted when we left.
The staff at Albatros are wonderful and so helpful. The breakfast and on-site restaurant is also very good. We ate there several times and loved it.

United StatesThe room was a bit noisy at times as it was on the third floor beneath the restaurant. Despite the air conditioners in the rooms the main area was pretty warm.
The room was beautiful and clean with a great ocean view. The free breakfast was delicious! The unit has air conditioning in both bedrooms and plenty of doors to let in the ocean breeze. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Nice toiletries provided for guests. Coffee machine is specialized and requires pods of some sort. These are not provided nor is dish soap, sponge, paper towels so make sure to bring these items if you want them. My husband and son had a great time riding the scooters for rent at the hotel.

GermanySome rooms seem to be slightly larger than others and a lot brighter. The latter has to do with the fact that not all rooms are painted in the pleasant colour combinations as in the pictures (which were done rather professionally). Our room had a rather obnoxious yellow/dark-blue combination. Because the hotel is directly facing the main street, it was pretty loud. Other than that a nice room though.
Very friendly and helpful staff, very nice garden and pool area, many dive shops in vicinity, generous room size. Breakfast was fine.

Mexico-there are only stairs to access the hotel room on the upper floor, with the restaurant being at the top. - the restaurant has only outdoor seating which made it impossible to use during cool and windy weather. can’t imagine what it would be like in a rain storm. -the layout of the junior suite has the only available closet and shelf space in the kitchenette, which means walking the entire length from the bed to get clothing . -nice to have a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee pot and toaster, but we needed to use the sink in the bathroom to clean up dishes as there is no sink in the kitchenette. -the worst configuration is the bathroom as one must literally step into the shower to pass by the door and the counter. This awkward arrangement leaves the door butting into the toilet. having to close the bathroom door to use the sink and toilet makes this room airless . the whole space management issue could be easily solved with the application of a barn door. -our room had an unreliable ‘on demand’ water heater, which kept tripping the breaker while we showered. we had to continually reset the breaker.

United StatesThe beds were very uncomfortable and the location was very noisy. You could here the sounds of chairs scrapping across the floor from the rooftop restaurant, and the bar across the street was loud until 1am and the scuba shop right below would be making noise beginning at 5am leaving not much room for a good nights sleep.

United KingdomThe location was not great. Downtown, where all the restaurants are, is a taxi ride away (3/4km). And you're right next to a busy road and across from a bar. The noise wasn't too bad from the club except for Thursday night when it was terrible until 2am. We spoke to guests who'd stayed before and they said Thursdays were bad. So if your booking falls over a Thursday night I'd recommend somewhere else.
The rooms were big and clean. Nice grounds. Breakfast was simple but good. It was right next to a great scuba shop (Scuba Mau) which was fantastic as we were there to dive.
