Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesHotel san Angel is great for confort, value and location, don't give me wrong. But if I have to mention something then perhaps it would be it's business center. Only because the computers are a bit outdated. Most of us that travel for work will have our own Laptops to use, but if it wasn't the case it would be a bit hard to do some work as some of the tools needed are outdated and processor/ram wouldn't handle them. Again, not a big deal if you have your own laptop since the Internet signal is strong for zoom or webex if need, plus it quiet.
Very clean and confortable with friendly staff. Free parking when bringing my own vehicle. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It's not too far from Alameda and Bellas Artes. It's within a 15-20 min walk to Arena Mexico if you're bored and want to go for a Lucha Libre event; I highly recommend attending a Lucha Libre event if your itinerary allows!

PolandVery poor soundproofing of the rooms, both from the corridors and from the street. You can hear every passing car and the hum of bus engines waiting for passengers outside the hotel from early morning. Attentive and helpful staff, but who do not speak English.
Nice hotel with big rooms and comfortable big beds. Good location not far from historical centre of the city. Walking distance from main atractions of the downtown. Clean rooms, cleaned daily. Safe neighbourhood.

MexicoThere is a group of asians always in the lobby on their elphones which is sooooo weird. Seems to be the owners as they are there the whole day; one of them super noisy (talking...not talking yelling on the phone since really early (around 8 am) and the guy placed on the top of open garden where makes the most of the echoe!!!!
Near to barrio chino, away from noise and traffic. Location ok. Frontdesk girl really nice and friendly. It's a safe area but by the night doesn't seem ideal to be walking around. Public transport is very near, by walking distance around 10 min. Amenities around too.

GermanyThe only very small detail is that there was no way to completely close the shower cabin from the rest of the room but only half way meaning that part of the bathroom was semi flooded when showering
I knew the hotel from last year where I was really satisfied and did therefore decide to go for it this year too. Good money/value deal with only a few minutes walking to Bella Artes and the area around and less than half an hours walking to Zocalo

CanadaThere’s no mirror in the bathroom (but there’s a large one in the room, so that was okay). There’s lots of noise from the street and from the guests themselves (bring ear plugs).
The location of the hotel is excellent! The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. There are two sets of window blinds to block the light, which is great for you sensitive types!

SpainThe room has no external windows, which means that basically there's no natural light. A couple of plugs near the bed would be nice too.
The position is excellent since it is located at a walking distance from the main central attractions (Alameda, Bellas Artes, Zócalo) and it's close to the metro station, which is also good if you need to go to the airport. The room was clean and the staff was friendly, with a smooth check in process. We could also leave our luggages for free in the deposit after the check out.

BelgiumNone of the staff speak English - just Spanish and not always a helpful attitude. The breakfast service was abysmal for us - 1x omelette and a fruit bowl was ordered and 2 omelettes received. There was a huge refusal to serve what we ordered. I had to take the 2nd omelette back to the counter physically and when the bill arrived it said 2 x omelettes which was removed finally but not without protest. I shall not miss this breakfast scenario. Not worse for 2 other days but not brilliant.
The location of the hotel and the main barman is not shy in asking for his tips - quite amusing.

United StatesThe restaurant that is attached is not good. It is unusual for my husband to order something and leave food on the plate. The coffee is bad. Powdered creamer, no milk. If not for the restaurant I would give the hotel a 10. However, the restaurant was always lively with guests, so other people did not mind.
The hotel is spotless, room, lobby, hallways. The room was well thought out, with outlets and dresser. It was just the size we needed. We asked for a fan to help the ventilation and this worked fine. It was generally quiet. The location was great for us, within walking distance to the Zocalo, museums, metro. A great market within 2 blocks. 2 cafes across and down the street.

United KingdomGood location for the historical centre and also close to some of the more local bars, restaurants and parks. Great size rooms and bathrooms (had a king room), adjoining bar/restaurant which also does breakfasts. I was there at a weekend and the breakfast room was very busy with not enough staff but the breakfasts looked great.

BelgiumThe bed was not comfortable at all and there was a lot of noise from other guests in the hotel and also from construction workers outside, all night long. So, bring earplugs if you want to get some sleep. Wifi did not always work. An extra towel would be nice, since the whole bathroom floor got wet after a shower.
Spacious room, nice shower, not to far from the historic centre (about 2km) and close to the subway. We never felt unsafe in this neighborhood.

CanadaSomething personal but the mirror is very close to the shower, you are literally watching yourself as you shower. No curtains, only half a glass door, it was odd Walls are a bit thin
Very central, 2 blocks from a market and 3 blocks from artisan market. 24 hours - was good because my flight arrived late and I was able to check in at 3am without problems Friendly staff It is your usual standard hotel room Good wifi, was able to work without problems
