Lovely place. I loved the restaurant, the bar near the beach. the beach palapas are great as well. The rooms ate beautiful. This is my 4th visit to Palapas del Sol and I've loved it every time I visit.

the only thing which could be improved was the slight damp smell in the room probably because of not enough ventilation. it didn't really bother us

A bit far from the city center and no activities to do at the hotel.

Nice rooms, very clean. The hotel is on the beach and there is the possibility to order food and drinks on whatsapp (even if the service is very slow).

Didn’t really have hot water, but the cool showers helped counter the heat and humidity. Mosquitos were bad as it is the rainy season, so would recommend lots of bug spray and would be great if the resort had better ways of keeping them away from the restaurant and bar.

We had a fantastic stay at Palapas Del Sol. We came during the low season and the beach and resort were quiet and beautiful. Room was clean and comfortable. Amenities were great with palapas by the water, delicious food at the restaurant, a stocked gym, and great service through WhatsApp. Would absolutely come back!

Only call out is it is far from town but overall an easy walk!

The resort was beautiful, right near the beach and was very clean! The staff was amazing and always helpful! I personally loved that the resort wasnt over crowded, always beach beds open, and plenty of room at the pool.

I am not including this recommendation in the review: The flagship of every hotel is the lobby. The first and last thing a guest notices about the hotel is the lobby staff, and that sticks in their mind. I strongly advise the hotel to train the two ladies (you know who I mean 😉) accordingly or replace them. I travel a lot around the world, but I have never encountered anyone so listless, lazy and lacking in empathy. Please do something!!!!!!

Best location on the best part of the beach in Holbox. Friendly staff (with one caveat that I'll get to later), good food, everything good. If you're petty, you can get upset about a lot of things, you have to look at the whole thing 😉.

Our children were upgraded to the most amazing ‘penthouse’ room. Our room was a little smaller which wasn’t an issue in itself but it was missing a full length mirror and decent storage. It would have been brilliant to have access to (even if at additional cost) paddle boards, kayaks and bikes.

The location is excellent, by far the nicest part of the Island. Quiet but only a ten minute walk into town along the beach road. The staff are very efficient and attentive, great service at the restaurant. Nice choice of breakfast options and very reasonably priced food options for lunch and dinner. Good value for money compared to a lot of other restaurants along the beach. Beautiful, well kept grounds.

We had lunch in the hotel most days - they were just a little slow on service. The front entrance of the hotel looks quite shabby but we only saw this when we first arrived and when we left so don’t be put off!

We absolutely loved our stay on Holbox and this small hotel was just perfect. It is at the quieter end of the beach - and the much nicer end- with the rooms just a few steps away from the beach with private sunbeds and hammocks, a stones throw from the beautiful water. We had rooms 8 and 9 overlooking the pool and the sea, on the first floor. Again, perfect for us (children sometimes splashing in the pool below but never a problem and it is such a small hotel it may only have been a couple of children when we were getting ready in the evening so no big deal). Rooms were so comfortable with free water provided and a nespresso machine. The breakfast each morning was delicious and could be delivered anywhere - we mainly had it in the lovely beachside restaurant. There aren’t masses of fscilities but who needs them when you have the gorgeous sea on your doorstep! The hotel did have some kayaks I think but we didn’t use them. It was about 10-15 min walk along the beach to centre of holbox. For us this was a high light each evening - to walk along in the sunset and find a bar for a cocktail before dinner. There are also little gold carts availabile in their masses if you need a lift! Overall it was paradise and I would highly recommend a stay here!

The private beach, the beds, the location. I wouldn't have wanted any other hotel! The offer a great service, super fast and super friendly. They serve breakfast at the beach if you request for it. It's close to paradise.

It’s very pretty and has a great vibe. The location is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious, as are the welcome empanadas. The room was large and comfortable.

A lot of mosquito and asquilines, one night I couldn't sleep because they were on my bed . It was raining that week,so I believe it was because of the rain. In the morning, all the flights were on the floor. I had to call someone to clean the room early in the morning. And one more thing they need to fix the curtains,we couldn't move easily the curtains to close them, because they were stuck on the wood holder.

The shower was spacious,the beds size 👌,everything was great. super rustic and a vibe of the Caribbean,the wood holding the walls, I really like it. The shells lights super cute, I like the way they have a lot of space to put your clothes and your suite case. For a family of 4, it was a good size The staff always had great humor and the spacious terrace the room had. And closer to punta mosquito.

Unforunately the staff is unable to control the weather and it was rainy/overcast for the bulk of the time. As a result, there is lots of standing water making travel around the island difficult and really only manageable via taxi's which are side-by-side all-terrain vehicles. Keep your feet up as they have to drive through puddles that will soak you if not careful. Also as a result of standing water, the mosquitoes have you as a banquet. Take a lot of bug spray.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was an off-peak time to visit but resort was still fully staffed with all amenities available.
