Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great space, very cool decor. Free breakfast was a lovely addition, and free dinner on our first night! (Although 2 small pieces of pizza isn’t exactly dinner haha)

Awesome decor and incredible staff (shout out to Nicole!). This hostel is super clean and I felt welcome as soon as I walked through the door. Yummy light breakfast every morning too. A lot of groups stay here, but also other solo travelers of all ages and genders. I really felt at home for the 6 days I was here.

CroatiaHostel is on a great location in the Historic center, few minutes away from Zocalo. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, communal bathrooms were cleaned regularly. We had breakfast included, it was a main Mexican dish different every day and there was cereals, watermelons, bananas, coffe and tea every day. Hostel also has a bar/restaurant so you can get something for lunch, dinner or just have a drink with your friends. There is a roof top bar which is cool. Every day they had something going in the hostel which was nice. People working there were amazing, very friendly and helpful, from reception to the kitchen and the bar. Special thank you for lovely Nicole who was very kind and had great English, and special thanks to our night worker, I forgot his name, but he would be up all night at the reception if somebody wants to go out or come inside. All in all, me and my friends had a great time there, we had everything we needed!

NetherlandsThe streets nearby the hostel are very noisy at night and kept us awake. Also, the window of our room couldn’t close fully and a curtain was missing.
It was a pleasure to stay at this hostel. It looks absolutely amazing and the facilities are great. The shared facilities are very clean and there are plenty of showers and toilets so never had to wait. The breakfast and dinner are included and because almost everyone makes use of it it’s a great way to meet other people from the hostel. The location is good, close to the main square and we felt safe. The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

AustriaBreakfast coud be earlier, as 8.30 am is a bit late. At night it is a bit loud due to the music of the surrounding bars, but at atound 12 it's getting quiet. However that is absolutely no reason not to stay at this hostel. We totally recommend it.
Great hostel, nice rooftop, good location in the city center right next to cafes, bars and restaurants, good breakfast (fruits, cornflaks and everyday a different dish like tacos, quesadillas, omlett, ...), very friendly staff, nice and big rooms, clean common bathroom

GermanyHostal Regina is such a great place. The room was extremely spacious with a comfy bed (we had a room for two). All of the facilities in the hostel are a real Mexican art. The breakfast was tasty. The staff is extremely friendly and organizes events for the evenings, the location is perfect, the Zocalo is just 5-10 minutes away tops, there are two big metro stations nearby.

AustraliaI assumed because it was Dia de los Muertos and we were in a prime location in a great hostel, we would have met lots of other travellers, particularly because of the rooftop space and the description of the hostel on booking.com, but we didn't actually meet a single other traveller whilst here. The downstairs restaurant area is open to the public so at all times its hard to establish who are hostel guests and who are public guests. We also spent some time on the rooftop each night, particularly on Dia de los Muertos when the hostel were giving out free Margarita's but we were the only two there (from 8-9pm). I appreciate this has nothing to do with the service Hostal Regina provide and probably more based on luck of who happens to be there at the time.
Hostal Regina had a really great feel and atmosphere about it from the moment we arrived. The place is decorated so cool, it really got us excited for Dia de los Muertos. We booked here because of how close it was to the Zocalo where the Dia de los Muertos parade was going to be, it's right in Centro and I think perfect location if that's the area you want to stay. The staff were super friendly, the breakfasts & coffee were 10/10 too. We didn't try any other food other than the included breakfasts but the pizza's looked great, we seen a lot of people ordering and eating these. The bedroom and bathrooms were very clean. Our bedroom had a balcony which had a nice little view of the street from it. The rooftop area was also a great space.

CanadaThe air between 3 and 5 am when all the reek if th previous day settles to street level is truly disgusting - but that is CDMX. Love it ir leave!
The room offers a view of a busy street in the centre of a busy neighbourhood. If you're looking for quiet, don't come to CDMX. Its a city of 20 millions that sleeps sometime between 3 and 5 am. I can only take that in small doses but it is great fun.

The hostel has gorgeously artistic decorations and it has really cool vibes! The location is perfect for those who want to hang out for drinks and parties or even just walk around the city's historic area. The breakfast was tasty and I was satisfied with the quality. The female dorm had individual beds and was really comfy to sleep without being bothered. I would definitely come back next time when I'm back to CDMX!

AustraliaThe kitchen is not well equipped. There aren't enough sharp knives and only a 2 burner hot plate that doesn't work very well
Fantastic location: close to two subway stops and major sites. Made it super easy to get around CDMX. In the female dorm we had individual beds, lockers, fans, a table, outlet and lots of space to keep our stuff The rooms face a pedestrian street, so it's quiet at night (except on the nights when the nightclub upstairs is going. But that noise didn't bother me much). Free breakfast, free water and free dinners. Excellent staff - warm, friendly and helpful This is a hostel that knows what travellers need and provides. Thank You.
