Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere wasn't much of a lunch menu-not sure if they are re-doing the kitchen. It's a bit of a walk to many attractions, but the front desk always got a cab for us when we needed one.
The staff was excellent-friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Beds were comfortable and the room was well cleaned and stocked every day. The grounds are lovely.

MexicoIts time for the bed covers to be replaced and invest in new bedding. A new makeover in the rooms would make them more appealing.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was old and dinghy. Mold around the faucet and the shower curtain. No hot water one night as the wind blew out the pilot on the boiler - the explanation to turn on the shower faucet and let the water run was a joke - ran out ot water! Took over 2 hours before there was hot water.
It was in walking distance to the old city, as well as Paseo Montejo. The rooms were spacious with good lighting.

PhilippinesThe old world charm of a world gone by. You can only imagine a time of the Spanish having this hotel as a home. Impressed with the staff and the bed. If we return to Merida it will be to bring some friends to enjoy this amazing place.

CanadaWe booked two rooms as we had family with us. Our room was fine altho beds a bit hard for our liking. My sister and her husband went to their room and the A/C wasn't working, unfortunately the computer at the front desk went down and they couldn't get them another room for at least an hour or more. Finally found another room for them and the A/C stopped working in it so had to wait for them to find another room. On to room 3, A/C worked but TV didn't (not a big concern about the TV but A/C was required). 3 rooms in one afternoon/evening, wow! Next day things went well. Gentleman at front desk was always trying to be helpful but could only do so much. Staff was very nice. Beautiful views from there.
It was a beautiful colonial style hotel with a beautiful pool and very nice staff.

United States of Americawe had a very nice deluxe suite. The living room furniture and bar area could have been better arranged and better stocked. There were limited supplies, utensils, plates and flatware
The property is well located. We did have a car and the parking lot is adjacent. Free parking and easy to take the car in or out as needed. New elevator was awesome! quiet, quick, and smooth ride to the fourth floor. excellent and friendly staff. if I return to Merida I would most definitely stay here

United KingdomWhat lets the hotel down - badly - is the wifi and (un)willingness of staff to resolve problems. Wifi in reception is ok, but in the rooms it is intermittent at best and often simply unavailable. This was a major pain when trying to check in for return flights, or indeed do anything. I mentioned it to reception and was told he'd raise it with their technician; if he did, nothing changed. On checkout I said that this had been the major negative of our stay and the receptionist wasn't interested, saying there was nothing they could do about it. We found a similar attitude when we reported that our sheets and pillowcases had quite a few dark hairs on them (plus a few breadcrumbs in the bed): there was no apology or even sense of shock. The receptionisti sent someone with new sheets and pillowcases, which we were expected to strip and fit ourselves. I asked if it was normal to find the bed in this state and received a reply of 'I couldn't say'.
The entrance to the hotel and the courtyard is impressive: a nicely restored colonial mansion with columns, arches and artwork on the walls. The rooms are in a more modern, five-storey section behind this around a reasonably sized pool and are fine.

CanadaThe pool and pool area is well kept, clean and a welcoming place to refresh, spend time in the water and great conversations under the parasols but unfortunately the frequent fetid smell of the sewers around the area was not nice. I suggest you find how to treat the waters to avoid the smell. My group and I enjoyed playing cards in the lobby-bar but found it a little bit unkept. Chairs are old and dirty.
The beautiful setting in an old magnificent Yucatecan mansion. A fresh oasis in the middle of the city Nice and cozy rooms with balcony with pool views Great lobby We had breakfast several times at the restaurant and found it pleasant and enjoyable. The staff is absolutely amazing and delightful. They are great people! They went beyond the normal service to get us ice, and jars of fresh horchata and tamarind water at the pool. Fantastic!

NorwayThe Hotel is charming and the staff simply exceptional. The Gentleman at the Reception Mr. Carlos, he spoke excellent English and has been very helpful. He recommended me different things that I could do during my stay. He helped me book Taxis and arrange Excursions. Thank you so much for all your help. The ambience is that of a colonial style Home. Very clean, nice and spacious. Spacious clean rooms. Quiet and pleasant.

CanadaThe towels were old, there were no pool towels. The sheets were too small for the bed. We had to ask for everything we expected to be in room. No hot water in shower. We expected house coats with our room upgrade but we’re told they did not have them in years. The smell of Septic was very very strong around the sitting area of the pool. Lucky for us we were on the main floor because the elevator did not work. Our 78 year old friend had to walk the stairs every time he went to his room.
Hotel was beautiful. Very Elegant. Very clean. Great staff. Beautiful clean pool. Parking was convenient. Good location

United States of AmericaDue to rain season the mosquitoes were everywhere. This property has a garden inside the property which makes more humid and attractive to insects. Also, my room had an older AC unit which made a vibration noise through out the night which could cause problems if you are sensitive to noises. I wore ear plugs. The room was big and clean but the bathroom was a bit outdated yet cleaned. Its a good value in general. Staff were very friendly.
I had the simple breakfast and it met my expectations. This property is close enough to downtown yet far enough to stay quiet from traffic & city noise. Staff members were always ready to help and go the extra mile. They will also help arranging taxi transportation to airport at a reasonable price.
