Breakfast was delicious but it was the same every day, so for a 4 day stay I would have preferred some change but this was by no means a major issue!

Gorgeous room, very clean and comfortable. Right on the beach - about a 90 second walk from room to beach chairs! At the quieter end of the beach in Holbox - which was great, but it did mean in low season it was a bit of a walk to find anywhere to eat. Staff were lovely, very friendly but not intrusive.

breakfast is very sober and it would be nice to have a pool.

this hotel is located at the most beautiful beach of Holbox, it is a quite and peaceful place with very little people on the beach. It is like you have a private beach and it is only 10minutes away from the more busy part of the island. it is like a little paradise. you have access to the beach directly from your room.

Located right on the beach and a really pretty part of the beach. Laidback feel with lovely decor perfect for our family of four. Loved the doorstep breakfast drop! Recommend getting one of the taxis from the ferry as we walked (15 mins) and got very hot! The sunset from the beach is stunning!

Casa Takywara is located just outside the town, where the beach is wider, and less crowded. Within ten minutes of walking on the beach you’re in te middle of town. The place is just great the staff is great, the rooms are nice, and even the dreaded mosquito’s all the reviews were talking about seem to be absent. At night the bio-luminescent algae were in the sea right in front of the house. We had a truly wonderful time at Casa Takywara, and on Holbox, wouldn’t hesitate a second to go back.

There can be a fair amount of ATV traffic on the sand road right in front of the bungalow, especially at night, which could bother lighter sleepers. It was a more surprising than annoying

We stayed in the beachfront bungalow. Very private feel, convenient kitchen facilities, great sunsets from the deck, and ocean swimming 100 feet from our front door. We were a 10 minute beach walk to most activities. Only taxis we took were when we had our bags to deal with and when we headed off to the distant Punto Mosquito and Punto Cocos. If you like a quieter beach location, this is it. Super convenient and delicious beach cafe a 2 minute walk away if you need a quick and convenient meal while still sticking nearby

Music from neighboring hotels was extremely loud and was played every night until early hours of the morning. While this was out of our hotel’s control, it was the “negative” of our trip.

The beaches of Isla Holbox were amazing. Miles of walkable white sand and turquoise water. We booked the beach bungalow. It was steps away from the beach. The trip was wonderful!

They used a pesticide on the terrace (which I assume most places do in the tropics) but they used it even though we had some of our things on the terrace and our door was open.

Breakfast was excellent and we loved eating on our terrace.

We paid a premium as we stayed over NYE but prices are pretty high on Holbox. It would have been great to have a restaurant/ bar but there were plenty near by and you could by a beer from reception. The breakfast was quite small for our family - but they brought extra at no extra cost for the young kids.

The room exceeded our expectations - it was much bigger in real life than the pictures showed. We stayed on the top floor with our two young children. The hotel provided a cot and blow up bed for them - and there was plenty of room for us all. The views from the balcony from this floor were breathtaking - breakfast was delivered each morning (or evening if like us your kids are up early!) Nothing too much trouble for the staff. The place was quiet - and away from the noise of the town but close enough to walk to it.

These are personal preferences mostly. Pillows are very high and firm so we put the covers on throw pillows to avoid a sore neck. There are two hooks for wet towels in the bathroom but no place to hang clothing. There is a small set of drawers but, if you're like me and staying a while, it's frustrating to have to leave things in your suitcase. I know hotels like things to look uncluttered, but travellers need some simple hanging rails and/or shelves as well as places to hang-dry wet items. We avoided using the balcony rails out of courtesy but a drying rack or line on the balcony would be really helpful. Also, the lockbox is small (won't fit a laptop) and not bolted to anything. We had no problem with security while there, but the lockbox could easily be carried away if someone wanted to. I'm sure this is easily remedied and just an oversite. And finally, a few more umbrellas on the beautiful beach would be great. Some guests will put their towels out early at the two (sunnier) beachfront umbrella spots - meaning you'll need a blanket for the beach or will be on the loungers a bit back and in the shade. None of this was a big deal as we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in "Sol" - a large space with a view of the ocean from the balcony. It was beautiful, clean, quiet, and very enjoyable. We really liked having a kitchen. The 32 stairs (spiral staircase) were well designed so not as hard as you might think to navigate - unless you have a lot of heavy luggage. Breakfast was simple and delicious. Fruit, granola, yogurt, toast, and preserves, delivered around 9am. There is a large jug of water in the suite and some milk provided with breakfast on day 1. Coffee, salt & pepper, and oil for cooking were also provided. Location was more peaceful than being right in town - less unwanted "house" music - and it wasn't a far walk for dinner. You will need your cell phone charged to have a flashlight for late night beach navigation. The beach in front of the property was way less busy and very pretty. The staff at reception (particularly Delfina) was very helpful and conscientious. There are no food and beverage services on site but they gave us a beach bag with some towels upon arrival. The garden in front of the rooms is beautiful and staff works very hard to keep it nice. There is water (a mangrove?) around the perimeter of the building. We expected more mosquitoes (and there are some at night), but the Sol apartment (3rd floor) has screens and they weren't a problem. Overall, it was a really lovely spot.

No internet and intermittent reception was a little difficult. Hotel restaurant recommendations were a little out of date. Chapulim was closed. La Sirinita was only ok. Would suggest adding Santos Fuegos which was delicious and is right nearby. More information in English in the room or via WhatsApp app about island history, ecology, and things to do would be very nice.

Beautiful location on quiet part of the beach. Room with two queens was great for a family of three. Enjoyed continental breakfast and coffee from the pot in our room out on the beach each morning. Loved hammocks and shaded lounge chairs.

I loved that it was set back from the beach and had a jungle feel to it. The fresh fruit and bread breakfast left for us each morning was a highlight to the stay. We loved sitting at our table and chatting before jumping into the day. There was coffee and a coffee maker in the room. They delivered milk with our breakfast to use. Some might not like that there is no WiFi but it helped me disconnect from home in a positive way. We did have cell service though sometimes spotty. The Agua Room was lovely.

We were welcomed very warm and our room was upgraded to 2nd floor room with terrace and beach view. I would recommend to book the upper rooms, if possible, sun terrace is definelty a value add. Showers, rooms and kitchen are completly new and in state-of-art conditions so the hotel provided us with everything we needed for our 5 day trip to Holbox, including drinking water from the tab. No issues with mosquitos opposed to our expectations, hotel provides free protection cremes on different station. The private beach area is relatively small, according to size of the hotel. The location is well situated, a bit off from the busy streets but close enough to walk. We really enjoyed our stay
