Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything was flooded and inaccessible, even getting there by "Taxi" was a nightmare
While Casa HX was beautiful, getting there was an absolute nightmare. Next trying to get to the beach was near impossible, everything was flooded and not accessible

Dominican RepublicLocation is not the best, is far from the town center and with all the flooding is difficult to even take a 15 min. walk to the beach without getting your feet swamp in water and mud, or going out at night. Taxis charge you more because of the distance and the huge pounds of water they need to go over to reach the hotel. Also not all food items in the menu of the restaurant were available, because of the difficult access they have trouble receiving merchandising from vendors.
Overall the property is very nice very quite and relaxing, I really enjoyed the 2 swimming pools, the room was very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomNothing really but do come prepared for mosquitos, they are ferocious on the entire island.
Beautiful hotel facilities, very luxurious feel. Modern but authentic. Super staff that go above and beyond to help and inform. Lovely breakfast and even better restaurant menu. Amazing shower. Great location near beautiful Punta Cocos. Great views of the jungle.

CanadaThe onsite restaurant service was slow, often missing ingredients for beverages listed on their menu, and food was often overloaded - too sweet, too salty, etc. Disappointing given the distance offsite to other options, especially during the low season.
Beatrice and her staff were above and beyond. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate; very clean, spacious and comfortable. The common areas and grounds were beautifully kept, and added privacy to the rooms. The terrace was a beautiful place to watch the sunset. The included breakfast was light and fresh.

PolandA bit poor breakfast and the same every day - coffee, slices of fruit (usually melon and papaya or watermelon), one piece of toast, a sweet roll, some butter, jam, yogurt and a tablespoon of granola. It's hard to call it a continental breakfast or any other breakfast. Eggs or omelettes are also available, but you have to pay extra for them.
Beautiful hotel and very nice and helpful staff. The hotel is a little away from the city center but it is close to the most beautiful beach, Punta Coco, where you can see flamingos. The streets are still flooded, but you can easily get into town by walking along the beach or, unfortunately, paying 150-200 pesos for a taxi. There are a lot of mosquitoes on the island, it is worth using the spray even during the day. The rooms are nice, large, cleaned every day and the beds are incredibly comfortable.

NetherlandsThe breakfast was not good - but you could order some eggs instead but you had to pay for it.
The hotel and rooms are beautiful - location near punta cocos. Staff is really friendly and we booked one excursion to the mangrove which was really nice! Also room service is possible, which we appreciated. The restaurant is very good.

SpainThe area around one of the pools smelled a bit of sewage (not the pool itself), and breakfast was honestly a disappointment; fit for a 1 star hotel rather than a place like this. Other than that, we really enjoyed out stay. PS: It's a bit secluded from the city centre, 25 min walk or a $200MX taxi ride, so keep in mind in case you plan to go to the centre often.
Very nicely designed, the room was quiet and comfortable, it has two swimming pools, and we definitely recommend the restaurant at the hotel.

GermanyThe included breakfast was not very filling. The restaurant is rather expensive.
Very calm atmosphere and the whole hotel is simply stunning. There are many details to be discovered. The beds, towels and robes were incredibly comfortable. Everything is very clean and we felt at home. The hotel is close to Punta Coco which is a beautiful beach with a lagune where the bioluminescence can be seen under the right circumstances.

ItalyI would just add a bit more variety for breakfast, and provide a pool towel to better enjoy the pools. We also found a bit strange that were not cutlery, mugs, glasses, nor kitchen tools provided as we had the room with the kitchen. Maybe something to provide in these rooms
We really loved this accommodation. The staff has always been extremely kind and available to accommodate our requests. I'd definitely recommend it to friends that will go to Holbox.

United KingdomThe distance from town and from Punta Mosquito could be a disadvantage.
Everything was wonderful! We really enjoyed the large, clean room with very a comfortable bed, the pools, breakfast and rooftop bar/restaurant. We also took advantage of the massage facilities which was a great experience. The hotel is located on the less touristy part of the island which we preferred, even if it's further away from the town. The beach is wilder and only a 5 min walk away from the hotel. The staff was very helpful and always available for any questions of recommendations.

United StatesWe were completely fine with the location, but we were there during the dry season. Even in the dry season there were some large puddles that were difficult to get around. If you are going during the wet season, getting around the area is probably very challenging.
We loved our time at Casa HX! The staff was so kind and helpful. The facilities were excellent; we really enjoyed the pools, the free breakfast, the game room, the hammocks, the rooftop bar, the bicycles, etc. We didn't make use of the spa, but it was nice that it was there. There was plenty of free purified water, which was a ice bonus. The location isn't super close to downtown, but it was walkable when the weather wasn't too hot and it was easy to get taxis (it cost about $12 per trip). It was also close walking distance to beaches such as Punta Cocos, which has bio-luminescence and beach clubs, and Puerta Azul Beach Bar.

AustraliaLoved everything! But a heads up, it’s a 25 minute walk into town and if you aren’t up for the beach walk or street walk it is roughly $20AUD for a taxi one way.
We loved loved loved our stay here! Right from the start the staff were so friendly and accomodating and really took care of us. The place is beautiful and so relaxing! We splashed out and got the room with the private plunge pool and it was definitely a lovely well worth it treat! The included breakfast was light and yummy! Juice was amazing and coffee was great too. The cocktails there are also very nice too. The staff and more than happy to book taxis for you which is great especially if it has rained and there are many deep puddles. We ordered two early more tacos for yours and our ferry out and they both came promptly. I have nothing bad to say about our stay! It was perfect!

United StatesNot much, everything was quite lovely
Although others have said they were disappointed that the hotel is far away from the town center, but we very much enjoyed the quiet, proximity to the beach and being in a area of town that wasn’t busy. The food was good, the property clean, stylish and very comfortable and the staff were all amazing, especially Annie & Matias.
