Concierge service is lacking. When I asked about shows, entertainment, restaurant, spa, I was directed to the “watch the tv”. It was hard to find information. I relied on a public Facebook group for most of the info I needed. There were also a few parties in our group that had to stay in other resorts due to them overbooking. We had a group of nearly 70 for a wedding and it seemed the resort didn’t care that groups of our family and friends were separated. They called it an upgrade even though it was a big inconvenience due to the distance between resorts. Booking excursions through the resort is probably not your best option. You can get a taxi or shuttle to most places nearby and explore on your own. Although, the catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres was worth it!

I liked the beaches and grounds. Vegetarian options at cafe were also great. The hydrotherapy spa was excellent!

Our only disappointment was our room. Our standard room in the Caribe was very tired looking and really needed a total renovation. The chambermaids did a good job in keeping it clean but re-decoration in the bedroom and a new bathroom were needed.

The resort was fantastic. The food in the Caribe buffet was excellent. The grounds were beautifully maintained. The entertainment shows we’re very good.

Our room key stopped working a few times. The front desk helped us right away each time.

The service was excellent. The a la cart dinners were amazing, way better than I was expecting. Plenty of different food options across the property we were really happy with. I’m happy we didn’t listen to people whining about the buffets online.

Staff at water activities is rude. Since many years, this has been the problem of Barcelo. People book this hotel as it markets as pary of its value proposition that people can do for instance catamaran. However, when tryong to do this staff is arrogant and makes it complicated and even asking for money.

We stayed 6 days at this resort and the housekeeper did not bring us clean towels until the end of the trip. The sheets and bedding were stained and the room was not only what we paid for but it was extremely cold and we were not able to turn up the a/c.

The food was decent and the staff was nice. The scenery was amazing.

Overall experience was really good. Only negative was that the rooms have very thin walls and doors and we heard everything that our neighbor said, every step, every word, every move (also switching lights on/off) and a lot of drunk people every night yelling on hall with huge echo.

My wife and I have been planning a Cancun trip for ever. We looked thru all the different Hotels and decided this was the best. Boy was I wrong all of the amenities that we wanted to go to they where all closed. No previous warning or on the web page. Then the room had air issues light issues and key card issues. To get a new key card you had to walk so far just to get to the reception. I will never waste my money here again. Shot for all I care they should issue us a refund for such a bad experience.

The staff was outstanding. The only think that was good.
