Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsBreakfast ends too early (09:30hrs). Due to the long day of travel the day before we slept in for a bit, ended up missing our breakfast by 15 mins and couldn't take anything from the buffet anymore. I also missed a good ventilation system in the bathroom.
After reading the reviews of this hotel the bar was set really low, but room 334 exceeded my expectations. Loved that we got picked up by the red van after arriving with the ferry.

SloveniaThe hotel needs a complete renovation. We hope it will be done soon, because we intend to come back.
The location is perfect, easily reachable and a good starting point to explore the whole island.

United KingdomRoom decoration can be old. Breakfast buffet was somewhat unpredictable, some times very generous, some others, a bit disappointing. Probably due to the fact it is an island thus dependent on irregular external supplies. Food is good but can be improved.
The hotel is located in a very beautiful cove where you can truly relax. Digital detox and everything can be done walking. The staff proved very helpful when accommodating our needs and very patient too. A beautiful, nice and relaxing experience.

Czech RepublicThe hotel hasn’t been renovated in a while but honestly, it didn’t bother us.
The location is outstanding! The colors of the water nearby are a sight to see, along with all the natural beauty of the national park it’s in! The room was comfortable and the restaurant was excellent.

ItalyThe beds only use one sheet, no mattress cover. The beds are quite uncomfortable, best to lie flat on the back since there is no padding to the mattresses. The shower in each room had a broken door. The bathroom fans screeched so loudly for the first 30-60 seconds, we had to either keep it on or off all night or it would wake everyone up. Neighbors too. The carpets all throughout are horribly stained. In the lobby, on the stairs, in the rooms. Wear socks or sandals in the room. We had a double room "with sea view" but that is just technically correct. Large trees populated with cicadas blocked the view of the little water way between the docks. The building is large. And the floorplan is strange, so there is no elevator. Steps and Ramps so let them know if you have mobility issues that need accommodating. Everywhere are signs of repaired damage. In the rooms, hallways, etc. Which is fine, but it's usually replaced? So if a fixture came off the wall, you can see the spackle and paint repair. Or the wall anchors painted over. It's very old and rundown.
The hotel is in a good spot for boating and stargazing. I went specifically for the Persieds and was not disappointed. The air conditioners work well. The bathroom was old, with plenty things chipped or repaired or missing (and repaired), but it was clean. Lastovo can be long and difficult to get to by ferry, but it's an absolutely gorgeous island. The coves are all calm and you can get in the water plenty of places. There are kyaks to rent just outside the hotel. They advertise other excursions but I have no information on them. The restaurant was pretty good, actually. Some things run out because supplies can be difficult to replenish on such a remote island, but the pork medallions, pizza, etc wasn't bad at all. Restaurant staff was nice. At least our waiter was quite friendly. Front desk guy not so much (but maybe that's an eastern European thing)

FinlandAs in many reviews the floor carpet in the common areas are old and full of stains. My bathroom ventilator was very loud and probably broken, also the shower door didn't totally close. The evening receptionists was insecure and started all the answers with "I don't know but...". He was not rude though as some of the waiters. I asked to get fruit and omelette as my breakfast when leaving with the early morning catamaran but got ham and cheese baguette with two yoghurts. But hey, at least got something! The diving center only accepts cash and closest ATM is in the ferry port. However after reading all the bad reviews I expected much worse. My stay was still very pleasant.
The breakfast and the location are very good. Free shuttle service from and to the ferry was also excellent. Hotel is accepting credit card which was exception in the area. Room was clean and cute. AC saved my days. Little fridge and tv also handy. You could reserve set dinner, either fish or meat, from the reception earlier every day with the cost of 90 kn. You have to ask about it, as they didn't really advertise it. There was a local buss which one can take to Lastovo town with 20 kn one way. It won't go very frequently though.

CroatiaAt first the stay at this hotel was pleasant, but the last night of the stay I believe I was attacked by bed bugs. The morning of our departure, my legs, stomach and arm were full of itchy bumps that go in a straight line. Even though we inspected the mattress on our arrival, due to the carpet and lots of unneccessary furniture it was difficult to inspect the entire room. The bumps were so itchy, I had to go to an emergency room to get an antihistamine prescription.

CroatiaHotel and rooms are dirty. Hotel is cleaned regularly, but carpet and walls are a complete mess (permanent old stains). We had to ask for a downgrade (twin beds, no balcony, worse view for the same price) to get a cleaner room upon check-in. Hotel is stuck in time - I did enjoy ex-Yu experience for fun, but my fiancée rightfully didn't since quality and price don't match. There is no elevator, and if you're staying at the top (2nd, 3rd floor) you'll take a long walk and feel like you are in a maze, going up-down-left-right to reach your room. Some other minor notes - our key card would not work (we were told to late that they shouldn't be kept near phone), I am not even sure there was a wi-fi, tv was small, although we didn't need it. Cheap toilet paper. Hotel was flooded the last day (corridors and restaurant were leaking water all around). Only rooms are air-conditioned. I am Croat and I know how difficult island life is and I didn't expect miracles. I just expect the place to be clean and I want to know what I will get when I make a booking, not when I arrive.
Breakfast was very good (rich and constantly re-supplied), considering that hotel is a complete trash. Shower was really good too. Plenty of parking spots around, gorgeous place to swim and couple of cool bars just outside. Beds were comfortable, A/C was great. Staff was pretty nice, it's not easy to work there

SloveniaThe room was outdated. The worst was bathroom, where wasn’t not enough space to sit on the toilet, outdated shower curtain, mold on the bath, etc. We could survive the room, but what was really terrible was the food. Definitely I’m wondering how the hotel could have 3 stars - not worth it!

AustraliaNothing about this hotel is as expected. It is so run down and poorly managed. The description on Bookings indicates that this hotel has been refurnished. I find this difficult to believe given the state of the reception, hotel and rooms. In my opinion this doesn't rate as a 3 star hotel - in fairness it should be 1 star.
The location of the hotel is great and that's where it ends in terms of greatness.
