Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe only con is the lack of clear communication before arrival, other than that it exceeded our expectations. The paint on the bathroom walls need some work and the hot water wasn’t working very well but it is so hot in the island that cold showers didn’t bother us! If you are not a good traveler don’t bother staying here. For us everything was great!
This hotel is as good as it gets on the island of Maafushi (which is the central hub for tours). The location is perfect, about 50 meters from the boat arrivals and just a few steps from all of the tour company huts. We were skeptical at first about the island in general, because multiple reviews for all hotels were complaining about construction noise and mold. We didn't experience this at all! Our room was very clean and noise was minimal. We were out and about and exhausted after tours so we don’t know if there was noise around those hours, but at night we were ko. It was also Ramadan and maybe that’s why construction wasn’t going at night or maybe we were so tired we couldn’t hear anything. We were in room 201 and it was away from the construction. But bare in mind, all the island is under construction! The prayers for Ramadan were going and you could hear them every now and then but we got used to it and didn’t bother us. AC worked great!! The service at the entire facility is fantastic, but the receptionist Florence was exceptionally helpful and detailed. Also, Pulina made our breakfast and dinner experiences memorable. The buffet is very complete and food is great!l

United Arab EmiratesWifi terrible (but on an island what to expect) Staff to communicate and support before arriving with transport and booking excursions was terrible (he doesn't reply or take note or get back to you, you have to chase) Confusion and miscommunication between the staff on arrival with my board (B&B/Half board) Excurisions - lack of communication AGAIN, not running with the hotel because not enough people interested, the day was merged with another hotel which was good but again, not explained. Mixed communication with staff and I guess the owner when checking out that I was able to stay in the room because boat wasn't until 4pm. Building work next door is loud, the hotel has no authority to speak to them to not use power tools, drilling to stop at an appropriate time, instead this went on vibrating the hotel walls and extremely loud until after midnight, this building work won't be completed for months and months so expect noise to be uncomfortably loud for a while.

NetherlandsWe stayed in the crystal sands villa first as the rooms in crystal sands were fully booked. Unfortunately the villa is very outdated and used. We had fungus in the shower, the fan almost flew off the ceiling, floors were bad so one of us ended up hurting their foot. Also the shower knob came off. It needs some real tlc to rent this out for 80$ a night. The newer property is better, also a bit outdated but much better.

United KingdomSome attention to maintenance would improve the overall ambience of this lovely hotel. Our bedside lampshade was held together with sellotape. The shower had one door when there was clearly meant to be two. These were minor observations.
The staff were outstanding - courteous, friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Sharman, entertainment manager, and to our Bangladeshie housekeeper. The location was excellent. The room was comfortable and airy with a lovely balcony. The food was good but unremarkable. Again, the dining staff were attentive and obliging.

HungaryIf I have to say one thing. Really I should have just asked but I never did so it is not much of a complaint, is it? The one thing that bothered me was the lack of towels. Small towels for hair ang other parts. I mean you should get two towels, right? One for your body, one for your hair or other parts. They do provide beach towels and probably they woud have given me extra towels I just never asked. Anyway. All I can say really, is thank you.
Oh how do I start. We spent 5 days is Crystal Sands and the people there were amazing. I have traveled a lot but the hospiality of this place is awesome. One example: I got bad sunburn from a snorkeling trip and when we sat down to dinner at the restaurant our waiter (I should know his name but I cannot seem to find it, I am so sorry, you deserve better) just came up and gave me aloe vera. It was very nice and helpful. I also recommend to book snorkeling trips with these guys. They are ever so patient with people who are affraid of water. I need to say a special thank to Lakmal who helped us way and beyond to get to another island in times of bad weather. He helped us to be safe and also get great experiences. Not just to get to sea but be well and prepared as a beginner. Thank you so much.

PortugalWe were given rooms towards the back of the hotel, where the mesquita with loud speakers are praying every mid of the night, around 4am. That would be acceptable, if the windows wouldn't be totally not blocking any noise at all. They are broken, and not limiting the noise. Also during the day significant constructions are ongoing exactly connected to this hotel, which makes it impossible to be in the room. We were booking 2 rooms, and despite that the hotel wasn't full, we were given two rooms towards the back, and side of constructions. If we wanted to rest during the day, none of the rooms were ok.
The breakfast wasn't too bad, but with limited options. Also no natural juices available at all, which seems normal in the island. The overall hotel looks nice. The overall hotel looks great, and is just in front of the arriving/departing boat, makes it easy.

CanadaThe hotel had quite a few problems and was still pretty expensive. Some problems/things we didn't like: - The wifi was super slow, spotty and unreliable - The hotel was a CATFISH. The "Seaview" is not that. It is a view of the garden, then the road, then some buildings THEN the sea, lol - Breakfast was lame - Our sheets were dirty when we checked in and we had to call to get them changed - The housekeeping came at 7 PM every night??? Honestly, Maafushi is not a very nice island so skip it if you are reading this!
The hotel was well located in the busy part of town near the port and the bikini beach.
