Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe best staff…ever. They offer a variety of activities for the different age groups. Food tasting, rum tasting, entertainment.😋 Our kids celebrated their birthdays there, and they made it special for us. Thank-you!🌷

United KingdomBed was a little too firm for our liking but was not bad. Not so many local bars and restaurants offsite if you were staying for a longer stay and wanted to go outside of the hotel for a different choice.
Beautiful location right on the beach with amazing sunset views. Lovely pool and bar area, friendly dogs on the beach with a really laid back tropical feel. Most of the staff were very friendly and provided a great service. Good buffet selection too with nice setting for eating your meals. Gift shop on site and watersports available. Also quiet and peaceful at night with flying foxes overhead and birds in the daytime :)

HungaryThe cozy hotel is situated directly on the beach. Its garden is clean and well-maintained. The rooms are cleaned every day. The quality and variety of the food are adequate. The staff strives to make the hotel guests feel comfortable. This is especially true for Rana, who works at the bar, and I have never encountered such a kind person in my life.

FranceFeel the rooms could use some investment. Really doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel and it’s unfair on the staff.
Loved the secluded privilege beach area. The sandy lanes restaurant and bar also great! Staff good in this area. Sara and the restaurant staff were great!

South AfricaThe guys on the beach keep pestering you to do paid activities, even when you decline. After breakfast it’s impossible to get a sun lounger and there are towels on all of them but no people. It’s like people come really early to book these loungers and pitch much later knowing in the day when someone else could have been using them already.
Staff were super friendly. Nothing was too much for them Ramdass at the restaurant was exact and went out of his way to be helpful quickly. The fact that you can arrive early and they have facilities for you to take a shower and use the resort while you wait to check in was incredibly nice. That convenience is extended when you check out too. They have umbrellas in each room too in case it rains ( this was very well used ) the food has a nice variety and is fresh. Overall a lovely experience. We’d book here again.

United KingdomThe wording in the information pack is a little out of date regarding gender equality. Instead of saying, 'Evening dress code for dinner: Men must wear long trousers, no shorts' it ought to say, 'No shorts please' as it should apply to everyone.
I'm glad we paid the extra for a privileged room in the Sandy village. It was very relaxed and quiet. The staff were lovely and always very helpful. Spotless rooms. We reported a faulty hairdryer to staff and a new one was fitted by maintenance an hour or so later. Good service

SlovakiaIf you have a comfort room, you are allowed to use only the main pool (not the infinity pool which is the first photo you see on booking). The infinity pool is in the adult only area of the hotel. The problem is not that you should pay extra for adult only room, but the walls beeing super thin. We could hear everything from outside (people walking, opening/closing doors, buisy road near the hotel) and also from other rooms (people talking, crying babys etc.). The bed was cracking and made noise even for a slight move. Some of the cleaning ladies made a really good job and some days we didnt even get our free bottle of water ( we should get 2 refills per day).
Overall the hotel is nice with comfortable rooms and a small beach (perfect for sunbathing) and has a nice location. The wifi is really good in the whole area of the hotel. The staff is friendly and although everybody speeks French, they always switched to English for us if need something. The hotel has a small parking lot which is free and the guests mostly used taxis so it was easy to park. The breakfast was really good (always the same, but really vide variaty of food). The dinner was sometimes repetitive and lack of flavour, but we always found something new and tasty to try and the staff made sure they didn´t run out of anything. They organise lots of actvities during the day, and also a live music every night. There is also a well equipped gym (requires reservation). As a welcome gift we received a voucher for free foot massage (15 min) and welcome drink. It was really nice that our last night we received an invitation for BBQ party with free coctails and rum tasting.

NetherlandsIf you are in the cheaper room, you are only allowed to use 1 of the pools. The overall hotel seems to be focused more on French speakers (in English the staff can be perceived to be a bit direct/find it difficult to communicate). Also, staff was very pushy on submitting a tripadvisor review and mentioning them in said review, which we learned on the end of our stay was endorsed by management. Furthermore, rooms are very noisy so you hear everything (people walking outside, opening/closing their doors, the entertainment in the restaurant area at night) Overall the experience was nice though, and we would come back to this hotel.
A small, quaint boutique hotel with nice facilities and concept. The hotel is clean, with good sustainability and nice food variations. Kudos to the management team, as you could see they were actively working on improving the hotel.

South AfricaWhile staff were friendly, many did not speak English or understand when being asked something. The buffet at breakfast and dinner always seemed chaotic. There appeared to be too many guests to service at mealtimes, and food often ran out and it was sometimes difficult to find a table to sit at. Meals were also not always up to scratch.
The location and facilities were lovely. Pancakes and cocktails were good. The inclusive package included most drinks and it was never necessary to have to spend outside of the package.

AustraliaUnfortunately, the food is very substandard. Luckily however, we only booked a bed and breakfast package, but on the 2 occasions we had the dinner buffet the food was not well cooked and was very bland. On the first day, we ordered lunch from the a la carte menu and it was very overpriced for the food. My sister and I ordered the chicken Caesar salad which arrived with about 8 pieces of lettuce and a few pieces of over cooked chicken and an egg that looked like it have been cooked for 20 minutes. No croutons, no parmesan and no dressing....even though they were mentioned on the menu. My son ordered a burger which was tiny but OK in flavour. After much resistance, the manager eventually agreed to remove these meals from our bill.
Veranda is a lovely hotel situated on a beautiful beach. There is plenty of storage in the rooms and the beds are super comfortable although the family room is a bit squashy. The gym is well equipped compared with most hotels although it is quite small so not ideal if more than 2 or 3 people training at a time. The pool, bar and beach areas are all lovely. They have a wonderful spa, but they are busy so prior bookings are necessary.
