Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsWe had a marvellous stay at Chatrium Hotel. The staff were very friendly and service oriented. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The location is great, nestled in the green in the middle of the city, you are quickly in golden valley and at Shwedagon as well as a few minutes from downtown. We can recommend to anyone to come stay here and enjoy a little oasis of calm within the city.

ThailandI wanted to use the gym 1 hr before closing. Already checked with the reception if still possible to use it. Ended up with no one was there and I spent sometime finding where to turn on the light and a/c on my own.

Everything about this hotel, from the hotel itself to staff hospitalities. Very quick reply. As I requested a room with 3 person (we are group of friends) I only expected an extra bed ready when we check in. Surprisingly, hotel managed to put 3 real beds in the room. Incredible!

United StatesThe two nights we spent were TERRIBLE, the hotel had organized a youth event with more than 200 students... we couldn't use the pool or any facilities. Music on stage until very late night, people screaming in the hallways of the rooms all night long. Instead of gave in us the first day a room far from the pool, we were on the third floor, almost behind the pool, where the event took place.
The line for the omelet took me more than 10 minutes, and two time I had to tell the waitress of a missing food and 3 different waitresses to brough me a cappuccino.
