Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomwe loved everything about our stay and was the highlight of our trip to Montenegro. Marko is a fantastic host and a lovely person, we had a great trip round the lake and he went out of his way to help make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We really enjoyed our breakfasts at the accommodation and the room was very comfortable and clean. We would definitely return when we next visit Montenegro! thank you so much Marko :)

We had a memorable time at Marko‘s place. While the accommodation is simple but has everything you need, Marko will make you feel like home. Marko’s place has some magic to it and Marko prioritizes his guests any time. He gave us so many good recommendations for Virpazar and all Montenegro. Even after we left he responded our questions without hesitation. We loved our stay and Marko‘s vine!

Marko has a lovely garden oasis property with comfortable accommodations and amazing views of the mountains. We enjoyed hearing about his projects, including winemaking! We also enjoyed a home made breakfast for E 5 per person. The property is located a little outside of the central area of Virpazar and a short drive away from a beautiful “hidden beach” on the lake. Marko is very attentive and gave us all his tips for the area, even helping us download and sharing locations with us on a Montenegro map app. We also loved the free bike access.

BelgiumThe beds are a bit small for someone my length (1m90), and the rooster started crowing a bit too early.
We had a great stay at Marko's place. He is a very charming host, with a genuine interest in people. The value for money is quite exceptional. The accommodation is very well located, and the rooms are super clean.

NetherlandsWe have no words to describe our stay at Marko's place. He is the best host I have ever met in my life. Starting from the beginning, the place has a great location, near Virpazar but out of the crowd. Marko has bikes if you want to explore the area, he offers a breakfast if you want to taste a bit of the local food, and the boat tour with Marko is also a must! Besides being a great host he is very friendly and will help you with anything! Marko has his own winery which is really good and he gives an excellent tour around the house. Believe me, staying at Marko's is more than just staying in an accommodation, it's a whole experience. Best decision spending my birthday there! Thank you

Marko was the perfect host - nothing was too much trouble and he welcomed us with open arms. The room was clean and comfortable and there was a well equipped kitchen next door for our use and a confortable verandah to relax on. We slept well as it was so peaceful. Breakfast was tasty and the choice varied. We enjoyed an amazing boat trip in Marko's boat and he informed us greatly about the area. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Marko is the most helpful and friendly host, and he goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The property is in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature. You need to try Marko's wine- it's delicious! We were very comfortable during our stay, and spent most of our time on the terrace soaking up the views.

United KingdomI stayed here with my 60 year old mum and we had a very lovely time. Marko is so kind and helpful. He picked us up from the train station and even dropped us in Podgorica as he was going that way anyway. The location is perfect. A 15 minute walk to the centre. Marko does also have bikes for his guests. We loved the wine tasting and Marko's wine. Breakfast served in the garden was beautiful and I think I'd come back just to see the cats again! Marko also gave some great restaurant suggestions and hikes for Montenegro. Thank you so much for our stay :)

Even before we arrived in Montenegro, Marko gave valuable tips and helped with our itinerary. Communication was excellent . It's a great place, about 10-15 minutes stroll from Virpazar on a quiet road. Marko produces his own (excellent) wine using traditional methods and once we were settled he gave us a short tour of his small winery. The grounds are beautiful, with hammocks for relaxing and loads of garden space. There's even a fresh water spring for topping up water bottles. Our double room was simply furnished but comfortable (private shower room across the corridor was not an issue for us) and we enjoyed sitting on the (shared) terrace, meeting fellow guests. We ate breakfast (5 Euros pp) on two mornings (omelette one day, mini doughnut type dumplings with honey and cheese the other) while the dinner (20 pp including wine) served in the garden (lake fish prepared by Marko's mother) was the best meal of our stay in Montenegro. Marko arranged a boat trip on Skadar Lake (private or shared available) which was stunning, suggested a route for a driving tour to places we'd never have found ourselves, and a walk to the next village where there are wineries. The accommodation is not luxury hotel but that's the charm of the place. You feel more like a house guest than a customer. Combined with Kotor and/or the coast there's easily enough to do here for three or four nights.

Marko was a very friendly, helpful, and informative host. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and we enjoyed being shown around the winery and garden. The house has a lovely rustic charm and was very comfortable, and only about a 1km easy walk from the centre of Virpazar. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony admiring the view in the evening after his mother had cooked us a lovely evening meal, which we enjoyed with Marko’s wine. Our only regret is that our stay wasn’t any longer. If in future we return to the area we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

United KingdomSometimes a bit of noise at night and in the morning from local dogs barking. The bedroom could’ve done with a couple more plug sockets but that’s me being picky!
Marko was a brilliant host, who gave great recommendations for activities to do around the area (including GPS details) - from visiting a secluded beach on the lake to a hike to a waterfall. We felt right at home and enjoyed getting to see Marko’s winery and had a couple of delicious dinners cooked by his mother. The house is conveniently located a 15-20 min walk from Virpazar, with plenty of activities to do on Lake Skadar and beyond. We had free access to bikes and use of a kitchen if needed.

GermanyWe really loved our stay at Marko's peaceful place. He is super friendly and showed us around the family estate. The history is super impressive, and we ended our tour in the wine cellar. His sister was taking us on a breath taking sunset trip on Skadar lake. A local breakfast was the perfect finish of our stay.

NetherlandsThank you Marko for hosting me in the small corner of paradise that Country House Djurisic is. This is one of those places where you arrive and you instantly feel that it is special. I very much enjoyed the beautiful garden and vineyard, the cozy and spotless room, the wonderful wine and montenegrin breakfast and the many interesting conversations and tips on the region that you shared. Three and a half days were not nearly enough to explore the natural beauty of this area. So many options to do hikes, bike rides, kayak or boat trips... or just relax in a hammock and read. I left feeling recharged and inspired.

PolandBefore we met Marko in person, he was already spot on with his communication. Asking us what time we will arrive so the dinner will already be prepared. We ate such amazing good fresh fish (carb) with all fresh vegetables from the garden. Fresh tomatoes, paprika, cucumber, olives, onion, cheese and super tasty wine from his own wine yard. Breakfast was traditional which was perfectly prepared as well, super good and enough to survive a whole hike (made by the host Marko) through the mountains. Marko is taking time to make you feel at home and is giving a lot of tips on where to go. About the stay in the guesthouse, all is in great detail, beds are comfortable, airconditioning is working good, fine shower and all toiletries and hairdryer available. Big plus, free use of bikes to roam around, even if it is for a simple fast groceries in the town. We would definitely go back to this guesthouse in the near future.

BelgiumMarko is an outstanding and enthusiastic host who makes you feel at home right away. The property is perfect for either relaxing on its terrasses and hammocks (under the grapevines) or heading out on one of the hikes (of the beaten path) Marko suggests. We only stayed a night but wished we'd stayed a week!

GermanyThis man understands how the game works and knows how to interact with guests. He is very polite, attentive, and considerate. The host manages to make us feel at home in a foreign country and culture. He opens his home to you if you wish, and you can tell that he's thrilled when you enjoy it, and he goes to great lengths to ensure that. He offers excellent information about things to do in the area, including GPS coordinates for hiking trails and hidden gems. Thanks to him, we had an incredible trip to a monastery island. He even arranged for a boat through a friend who took us there. In addition his place provides bicycles to cycle to the town or around and a wonderful garden with fresh mint and herbs, he serves delicious local organic breakfast or dinner that's even better than what's available in town (Maybe because his mother is cooking), all while enjoying a beautiful view and a fantastic atmosphere. Besides his garden, he shares his homemade wine and spirits. We had engaging conversations in the wine cellar about the country, its people, culture, and politics. He answers every question thoroughly and adds his own unique perspective, sharing stories along the way. Additionally, he initiates discussions that you can engage in if you're interested. The host is truly a remarkable individual who is deeply passionate about what he does. In fact, if you stand in Virpazar’s overcrowded city you are lucky to be home in this unique treasure. Thanks Marko for that experience!

United KingdomMy only negative is that we didn't stay long enough!
What a wonderful surprise! We didn't know much about Virpazar but were totally charmed by Marko and his beautiful estate. Upon arrival, he gave us a tour of the house and gardens and allowed us to sample some of his wine from the estate winery. Marko showed great care and attention to every guest and recommended a fantastic driving tour of the area with hikes, viewpoints and swimming spots along the way. We enjoyed one meal out and one meal cooked at home which we ate on the balcony to enjoy the amazing view. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful and adventurous stay in Montenegro. We are likely to be back :)

Beautiful views and a very comfortable room with lovely furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. The breakfast and dinner (we took this for an additional charge) were delicious and the accommodation included use of high quality bikes and we were also able to taste some of the host’s own wine and rakija.
