Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI liked everything about this property: All the staff were amazing especially Roqaya who is managing all the details with wisdom! She managed our trips with guidance and they were wonderful. The owner is really lucky to have Roqaya and her team managing his Riad. Perfect location, great breakfast, very clean, quiet and comfortable. I’ll definitely go back again! The Riad has its own Hammam and I loved the experience. Sawsan Bashier Egypt and USA

PhilippinesNael and Roqaya were very gracious hosts. Their staff: Yunes, Mohammed and the cleaning lady made my stay very comfortable. Their riad serves an authentic and healthy Moroccan breakfast. And it is just a short walk to the Medina.

SpainThe only downside is not having a pool in the heat of the city. Rather than that, everything was perfect.
The location is perfect, close to everything yet quiet. The breakfast on the terrace is amazing. The kindness and hospitality of the staff are exceptional.

United KingdomNothing disappointing. It was a very pleasant experience overall.
The hotel is an oasis in the middle of the busy and hectic streets of Marrakesh old town. Its a short walk from the market square. The staff couldn’t be warmer, more welcoming and helpful. Extremely clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommend.

FranceOnly that I could not stay longer - I loved it!
I loved this little place! The staff was so friendly and so helpful, and the room was lovely. I was heading out early for a tour and they even made breakfast extra early just to accommodate me. And the location was perfect! Right near the central square in the Medina, but tucked away in a quiet spot.

PortugalNothing that we didn't like.
The owner and his staff have a kind connection to one other and to their guests. This immediately makes you feel safe and at home in a city that can at times be challenging because of its vibrant nature and constant buzz. The riad becomes a place of retreat, a place to catch your breath, more so if you are traveling with kids. Our room (Fatima) was decorated with style and respect for the local culture. We loved waking up to a beautiful breakfast served with a smile, down in the courtyard or up on the roof. We will definitely come back.

NetherlandsNot for us, but for those who are not used to very crowded places and noises, the location can be a bit overwhelming at times.
We loved our stay from the beginning to the end. The staff has been incredibly nice to us, specially to our toddler, which made us feel home. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, rooms were clean, and always staff when needed. Also very quite even is located in the heart of the old medina.

CanadaI prefer to stay in places with a kitchen, but in Morocco, staying in a traditional Riad seemed like the best option.
The Riad was amazing, and the staff made our stay there comfortable. It was much cooler inside the Riad than on the street, and it was a very quiet place to stay. The location was excellent - easy to find, and within walking distance of the places we wanted to go. Breakfast was great, and the staff were very welcoming!

United Kingdomoccasional whiff from the drains but this is to be expected from city centre location
We couldn't have been more happy and comfortable at our stay at Riad La Cigale! Roquaya, Nael, Kabira and Yasmin were so hospitable, friendly and accommodating. We loved having traditional Moriccan breakfasts every morning: they were delicious! All recommendations made to us were brilliant. Big shout out to the Toubkal restaurant on the main square : the chicken Tagine was the best we had. If you are looking for absolute luxury, go somewhere else, but we had everything we needed from our stay: clean comfortable accommodation, restful and pretty communal areas, delicious breakfasts, friendly staff and perfect location for city centre. Thankyou Riad La Cigale for our wedding anniversary surprise! The stay exceeded our expectations!

United KingdomThere is nothing we could have asked to be better.
The hosts were amazing and made our stay feel like visiting dear, very attentive and courteous relatives. Everything was at a high standard - well thought interior design, many sitting places spread over three floors so you can enjoy intimate relaxing moments after visiting the city, the quietness, in house prepared breakfast, comfortable beds and all was spotless clean. We took advantage of dinner being prepared there and it was amazingly good, also took a cooking lesson with Roqaya and were left with wonderful memories and new skills to take home. We received spot on guidance about the city and how to navigate it, all we needed was arranged for us (trips, transfers, activities) very professionally and we felt cared for all the time.

MalaysiaThe room was so comfortable and cool enough after a warm day outside. I like the attention to detail in the facilities, be it in the room or the common area. Breakfast was nice and local, you can choose to have it on the ground floor or at the rooftop terrace. Anytime of the day, the staff was sweet enough to offer mint tea - nice to have after a long day. Of course, the best part was the staff - Roqaya, Nial, Yasmeen, Khadija: they went all out to ensure you are comfortable, feel at home and enjoy Marrakech to the fullest

IrelandI’d stayed in a dozen different places on my travels throughout Morocco and the Riad la Cigale was definitely the nicest. The location was excellent (just a few minutes walk from the Jemaa el-Fnaa and down a very quiet and peaceful alley), the staff could not have been nicer or done more for me, and the building and room were so comfortable and well-presented. The breakfast was another highlight- a huge helping of fresh foods and drinks and authentically Moroccan. More than anything, I really must say the staff were incredible! They were so helpful and welcoming.

RomaniaI can’t think of anything; it ticked all the boxes for me.
I was there for 2 weeks and it was great. The staff was more than welcoming, so even as a solo female traveler, it felt safe and homey. I even got a gluten-free breakfast, which I don’t think is an easy task in a medina. My suite was very clean and quiet, and I absolutely loved the rooftop terrace. The location is also good and easy to find, unlike other places in the medina. I would go back any time.
