Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom1. Room service did not work 2. The introduction when checking in, the staff gave us no details about the hotel other than the breakfast timing, and so we had to find out a lot by ourselves or from asking. Also no details about the city, what to explore etc.
Loved the hotel, the cleanliness, the pool, and the breakfast was amazing. The size of the room was fantastic and the bathroom was great. The location is just opposite a train station and a bunch of restaurants!

It is my third time in the Red Hotel, this time we had fresh renovated room, it was excellent. We loved the room, it is new, very clean, calm and stylish. The staff is very friendly and professional, they are super nice and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location, we always go here also because it is just in front of the gare station and not far from the airport. We tried the restaurant in the hotel, the food was great. The pool is also nice and helps when the weather is hot. So happy to have chosen the red hotel again! We will come back! Thank you very much!!

United KingdomUnfortunately the air conditioning was not working correctly. It was 45 degrees outside and we did require the air conditioning to work. It worked only a little, but it would not make the room colder then 25 degrees. A fan was given but it didn't help so much. I do believe many guests had this issue also. I would advise to check the room air conditioning before signing anything, especially in the summer. Also the gym is really small, it has 2 machines!
Staff are friendly and prompt with any requests. It was a pleasant stay apart from the 1 issue.

United KingdomThere was only one receptionist at a time so you have to wait around to be seen. The rooms were dusty even after a clean. The rooms look dull and dated. Our room window didn’t shut properly so the dogs from outside interferes with the sleep. The bed was squeaky. There are no tea or coffee in the rooms. What bothered me the most is that you can’t bring food or drink from outside. Not even water! You are expected to buy from the hotel for a much higher price. Most of the staff were not very friendly. There aren’t any iron in the rooms so you have to wait a very long time to get one from the reception.
Red hotel is now working with Opera Plaza so Red doesn’t really exist anymore. The lobby area is nice and clean and beautifully furnished. The breakfast was ok. The location was great even though on the main road it was next to some restaurants ,a train station and easy access to bus links to get to jemaa-el-fana. One or two staff were friendly. The pool was nice and warm but very busy.

NetherlandsThe receptionist demanded we leave a 350 euro deposit for our room (which was almost the room pricr itself), even though the terms and conditions mentioned a deposit of 50 euros. We even overheard her ask 400 euro deposit from another guest, so we felt that we were being scammed pretty badly. We got the deposit back in the end but requesting a deposit that is almost the same price as the room and asking different deposits from other guests seems very suspicious.
The staff was friendly and they have an elaborate breakfast buffet so there’s something to like for everyone.

Netherlands AntillesSuggestion to to add in their brochures for excursion they provide ( but I think every hotel should do that) is that a lot of these guides are not being paid by the company. They ( guides) therefore in advance tell you on theatric to pay you for example 30 or 70 Dh. Personally I would tip a guide anyway but I noticed that a lot of guests felt a bit overwhelmed forbade huide to ask them for money as they thought they get paid by the company and therefore it’s included in the price of the trip. They are not, this little money isvactuslly their salary for the tour. You’ll seevtyat a loting times they live in the area. Hotels should be more vigilant with tijdvakken explain the clients they need to pay an ‘extra’ small amount there to the tour guide. I understood but I could tell some of the guests did not andbits embarrassing for the tour guide to ask for that small amount when the tour is finished although he / she explained at forehand that this is the case. Another suggestion: Also the tour arbutus Berber village at the big waterfalls was great but the place where they serve the lunch in my opinion, should be changed. Down by the water boats the food is excellent but the place in this tour that is chosen to have lunch with is a bit commercial and the food is awful. Was not impressed.with that when I saw it. Sill ate it but my daughter and I still are still running to the loo after a day. They can do much better
Very friendly staff and very helpful Accommodation right near the train station and not far from city centre. Breakfast was excellent and room and beds very nice
