The hotel is very old, our room was located on the 3rd floor with the round steps and without lift. For those who travel with a luggage its not a good option at all. There is no tea/water/coffe.. nothing at the room. And u find nothing at the reception. At least for free. After looking for water for a while the receptionist found a bottle of water and sold it for 25 drm! 😂 The staff is not helpful at all. During the Eid all the restaurants were closed. They didnt prevent, didnt propose the alternative, they have no a city map, there is no good internet, they can not call to the other places for reservation.. And the last point, my arrival time was 04:00 AM. During the reservation I chose the hotel with the reception open 24h and I prevent regarding my arrival time. They refused my demande 3 times unless I called from Baku to Tanger to explain the matter. “For sure, I pay this night. Just I arrive later, its very late check in. I can pay also for late check it! Guys, just let me enter the hotel!” They confirm by phone but I never got the confirmation by email. Finally my flight was late, I was at the hotel arount 07:00 AM and the first thing they did- asked for payment!

We stayed at the hotel 3 nights. The only thing I liked its location, its great next to the Medina entrance, to “hop on bus station” and 20 minutes walking to the beach. The breakfast was good, but the same during 3 days.

The hotel seems to be trying to modernise but keep the historical charm. This can mean a few quirks, and no lift, but nothing to dislike. Only the hotel taxi can get to the door, otherwise it is a steep walk up from the taxi rank.

Wonderful position overlooking the harbour. Fascinating old colonial hotel steeped in history. Quite formal, in a nice way. Staff excellent. Good room that seemed to have been modernised

Guest wifi was sporadic, Rooms are a little tired and have imperfections but for us that just added to the charm. Some maintenance is required to plumbing and fixtures etc. But the rooms are clean and perfectly functional.

Hotel is located in the prime spot for the medina and Kazbah. Most other hotels are located around the bay so they are 20 min walk min to the old town. We were given a balcony room with lovely views across the harbour at no extra cost. Breakfast is fine - traditional Moroccan fare which we liked but do not expect a full English, The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside with a slightly faded charm; if you want modern then this is not for you. Would definitely revisit as first choice for location and authenticity. Staff were very helpful and organised us a day trip which was amazing value.

    1. There were interruptions with hot water provision (though mostly in the hours of sleep / midday) 2. Breakfast was, unfortunately, of very low quality - I would suggest partnering with a bakery and get good pastries sorted, then replace coffee with a better one and maybe reduce the hot dishes to eggs and sausages, but again, make good ones. 3. Sound-proof is virtually non-existent, I didn't sleep well because of it. 4. the WIFI didn't quite work 5. For some strange reason, this hotel does not serve alcohol (albeit Morocco is a wine-producing country, and I would imagine that in the times of Churchill the service at this hotel was a little bit more...advanced).

The hotel is located in the heart of old town of Tangier, thus you're in a walking distance from virtually anything of interest within the city. I picked this hotel because of its historic importance (Churchill once stayed there, etc.), and indeed, the hotel has beautiful interiors. If you are lucky and get the room with the view - great view, if not lucky - the view is not great at all. The staff was nice and friendly, we got a decent dinner on the day of arrival. Unfortunately, beyond historic atmosphere and nice location there were very few positives about this hotel.

The location is perfect! Less than a ten minute walk from the ferry terminal coming from Tarifa, clearly visible as soon as you step off the ship. The hotel is directly on the outer walls of the Medina of Tangiers. Ask the receptionist to arrange a walking tour (Saïd was great and speaks perfect English). It will take you to places you would never go on your own for fear of getting lost. In two hours we saw so much that we're still processing it.

The staff were shocking. They were unfriendly and lazy. One staff member actually hid around the corner when he saw us coming carrying our suitcases (and my spouse is over 60). The linen was very tired. Every dinner plate was chipped. Every. Single. One. It wouldn't take much to bring back the charm and ambience of a 5 star hotel. It has everything going for it except the staff, linen and cutlery and crockery.

The location. The architecture and charm of the hotel. Breakfast was lovely. Restaurant food was nice.

The bathroom ventilation system appeared inadequate, with a small, unconventional opening leading to the common areas. While likely functional, it presented a privacy concern, especially considering the lack of such a feature in other rooms. (room 102) While the breakfast offered a good selection, refilling of the buffet ceased around 10:00 AM, despite breakfast service continuing until 10:30 AM. This inconsistency could be inconvenient for guests arriving later in the breakfast window.

The staff is nice and helpful. The museum-hotel boasts a unique aesthetic and provides a welcome departure from the ordinary. The rooms are clean but slightly outdated. The breakfast offers a pleasant selection with a particularly noteworthy view.

Room decor was very tired and in need of facelift. The shower drains were very slow to clear, and the water spilled all over the bathroom floor.

Location is perfect for exploring the waterfront and very close to the ferry terminal for Spain. The hotel building interior is beautiful and its worth having a look around the hotel. There are lovely little salons everywhere to have a rest and the view is wonderful from the balcony. There was a good selection of foods at breakfast such as eggs, toast and bakery goods.

Staff could try and not hang around waiting for a tip, making the situation unconfortable, especially after they made you walk up and the hall for 20 minutes as a ready room could not be found. Outside of our room the was a pile of furniture, so not a great look. Overall it's a dated hotel, possibly in need of a boost of younger management.

The building is a museum...The facilities are quite dated. Sound is an issue between rooms and mechanical systems in some areas of the building. There is no elevator for those that have trouble with stairs.

This hotel is perfectly placed for those arriving via Ferry, and just at the edge of the Kasbah/Medina. The staff was the highlight. Always friendly and helpful. They also helped us with arranging a short tour of Tangier for a really good price. The breakfast was included in our stay and was really good. Beds were comfortable and we all slept good. I think this hotel is hard to beat if you are traveling on a budget and want to spend most of your time exploring the Kasbah. The building is a museum and a landmark.

The facility is old, the window of my bathroom is broken and there is no curtain. The hotel locates in upland and you need to climb the stairs, not friendly to those who have luggage suitcases. And there's no elevator in the hotel, either. The stairs in are high. In the back is the the residential area and a mosque. Sometimes People are singing and praying late at night and very early in the morning, which is noisy.

It's an old building and traditional Mediterreane decoration, good for those who love old fashion. Room space is fine. The location is quite good, close to the pier and easy to take ferry, also close to the old town and the restaurants and shops. The view from the balcony and breakfast restaurant is extremely nice, a wonderful place for local girls and ladies to have dinner.
