Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

LatviaDidn’t like that balcony was shared with neighbours. Also there are two full size windows/balcony doors that open up fully and there is no protection which means you can fall out,especially if you have small kids,they can simply fall out from second floor.

PolandThis place truly deserves its high rating. The location is supreme if you like seaside, it is literally couple steps away and you can even see the sea from the kitchen terrace. Everything inside is super clean and cozy, and has all the amenities a traveler might need. On the top of that, the host is a very sweet and pleasant lady who will gladly answer any of your questions. I stayed there for 5 days with my friend and we can’t wait to visit again 🙂

5 mins to the sea. Shared kitchen and terrace on top floor. Seating area outside with mini garden. Host is helpful (when asked she was happy to give a locker kept outside, so that we could share the keys with my friend).

The location 😍, though a little far from the old town but just 2 mins walking from the Baltic Sea The host ❤️ she is such a pure soul. She doesn’t understand English very well but the effort she gives to comfort you and help you is so good and commendable.

LithuaniaLocation is just incredible - you can walk to the beach in less that 5 minutes. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, beds amazingly comfortable and in the kitchen upstairs you will find everything that you'd need. There are few great spots nearby to have a drink or a dinner. All things considered, we had an incredible time at SurfHouse and we will definitely be back there.

AustriaOur host was such a lovely person. We liked the short chats with her and the breakfast she provided was delicious. Our room was nice and cosey and the big bed was absolutely comfortable. The house is very close to the beach and the dunes. The area is nice and calm. Nearby you have public parking (10.00-22.00) and some really cool beach bars which are offering fancy drinks and tasty food for a good price.
