Only negative was paying cash at the end but thats so minor compared to how amazing everything else was.

We had such an amazing stay at The Slow Vegan, the staff were so friendly, the vegan breakfast was great for people who don't normally eat vegan food and it was so special waking up in the morning being right on the beach and watching the monkeys play in the trees. If we came back to Mirissa we wouldn't stay anywhere else but The Slow Vegan

Location is insane, right in front of the best swimming and surfing spot of mirissa beach. The lounge area in front of the beach is the biggest vibe, nice music playing all day and comfy lounges. Perfect to relax. All staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Breakfast was insanely good. Hotel is extremely generous. Room is so nice, clean and comfy. Being able to hear the waves crashing during the night is the best. Lunch & dinner menu so good. A vegan, beach lovers paradise. Book in quick or you will miss out on the best hotel experience you will ever get

Not staying longer!!!!

This place was the best! The rooms were so comfortable and clean. The food was incredible with the bonus of as much of anything you wanted on the breakfast and breakfast drinks menu. You can wake up or go out and do activities before breakfast and have it when you return. There is no strict time. Cocktails were delicious. The entire hotel and beach front has the best chill vibe. The staff were fabulous and very attentive. Special mention to Sam who saved us from a big mistake of getting our flight days wrong and coming up with the perfect solution. He is also the go to if you want to know about activities to do in and around Mirrissa Beach. Highly recommend and my favourite stay of the trip!

The price was twice the second most expensive place in Mirissa. It is a great place for sure but we felt that it was not worth twice the money

The only fault of this accommodation is the bathroom. The sewage smell is very bad each day and night, there needs to be an upgrade in facilities in the bathroom and some plug in air fresheners.

Just for an objective review: The price/night and also the price in the restaurant is higher compared to other places with a comparable offer on Sri Lanka‘s south coast. To me personally, it was worth it! Right next door is a beachclub which plays weird music at times. Bed sheets (with some small holes) were not changed during my stay, although indicated on their in-room information, climate and location requires regular maintenance, water in the shower is really hot and it’s difficult to regulate (but hey, there is hot water :)). Missing a safe and hairdryer as nice-to-haves in the room. As pointed out by other travelers, credit card payment is not easily available. However, I was able to pay for my accommodation by CC without any hassle. Just communicate :).

After traveling nonstop for 7 weeks, I chose The Slow as a home base for a week to recharge and it was the best decision. I arrived with a bad cold and everybody supported me to feel better again soon, from serving Ayurvedic teas to providing me with a kettle for daily steambaths. Biggest compliment goes out to the entire team, who was just so friendly and comforting! The location right on the beach is breathtaking, walking distance of 10 minutes to Coconut Tree Hill, 30 minutes to Secret beach and everything else in town lies in between. The room is spacious, clean and comes with a daily refill of 2 water bottles. It’s equipped with a huge and comfortable bed, ventilator and AC and mosquito net. Soap, Shampoo and Bodywash are provided. The breakfast…oh, the breakfast! It’s served all day long and you can choose ANYTHING from the menu with NO LIMITATIONS. I tried it all and I can recommend all dishes, pure, vegan and delicious food!

the only thing i can think of is the room isolation is poor so we can hear all the noise from the outside: not from people but from the sea that was very rough and the wind blowing hard. but nothing that should keep you from visit ;)

the place is right on the beach, the restaurant had gluten-free options including bread. the room is not much but it’s what you can expect from a 3-star hotel. staff super attentive and kind.

The aesthetics of the hotel is really nice, New colonial style and very charming. The vegan cuisine it’s amazing and you will be surprised with the different and tasty options of the menu. Staff was very friendly and always willing to help us. They took care of us very well. It’s beachfront and has a very peaceful athmosphere

A wonderful stay in an idyllic place! Sam and his great staff cannot do enough for you. The food was wonderful - I had no problem switching from carnivore to vegan for four days. Our rooms were nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Views straight onto the sea. Well placed for day trips. Would love to go back at some point!

Comfortable, spacious and relaxed. This pleasant beach-side hotel has a nice, chilled atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 older teenagers) with plenty of power sockets and a fridge to keep water and drinks chilled. The bathroom was huge with an outdoor shower space as well. The breakfasts were great, very tasty and, as the name of the hotel suggests, vegan. The owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We spent lots of time chilling by the beach with a cold drink. Wonderful. Recommend this accommodation.

Wifi coverage and speed was not the best.

Great experience!! Location was amazing, the hotel beach is sheltered and good for swimming beach. The layout of beachfront furniture was really well thought out. The staff were very super attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Cocktails were lovely and consistent! There were some great dishes served up from the vegan restaurant, and we found ourselves eating there more than expected. Overall a super relaxing experience and great vibes for our whole family.

This is by far the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka and one of our favorite places in the world. The decor of the rooms and hotel is sublime! The location and views are perfect. Food and cocktails were also delicious. However, the main thing that made us love this place so much was the staff, Sam and his team, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left they were amazing. They are doing a fantastic job at creating the perfect vibe at The Slow!
