Spa treatments are poor. Had a treatment every day for 3 weeks in Sri Lanka and this was the worst

There is nothing not to like

Absolutely loved my stay. From beginning to end, all of the staff are amazing, so accommodating. I had a room upgrade to an amazing suite (it was low season but still, was very generous of the manager) and the staff from day one till 4 could not have been more invested in my having a great stay. I always book hotels who have an excellent satisfaction score as service is so important to me, and this hotel didn’t let me down at all 👍🏾 In June, you cannot go in the sea as its so rough, but sat on the beach or balcony watching & listening to the dramatic waves is unreal. Food is good. Breakfast plentiful & good options. Did a safari trip & my driver was so lovely & chatty. (I did Yala safari via the hotel, as there are lots of different animals & not just elephants) Overall I had one of the best hotel experiences ever - and I have stayed in many countries as a solo traveller Thank you Riff - I will highly recommend you and hope to visit again.

The staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. With great attention to detail. Food was great, breakfast was especially good. Incredible views beside the beach. Best hotel we've been to in sri lanka. Definitely a genuine 5 star hotel. Big thanks to the manager Raymond.

The gym could use a bit of an update and some equipment needs repair.

This hotel is amazing - the location, the rooms, the pool, the beach, the staff, the restaurants. Cannot recommend enough. Spacious and modern rooms with large bathrooms (with robes provided with I LOVE). Both restaurants offer great food. All of the staff are so friendly! We wanted to stay longer!

The best stuff ever! Everyone is so nice, friendly, welcoming, kind and professional! Im traveling all around the world every 2-3 months and i haven’t seen such a great service for a long time! It’s the second time we came to the Riff and we are again very happy that we chose this beautiful hotel. From management to staff you’ll find kind and helpful people that make this stay even more beautiful. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, the service is great. We enjoyed the food from breakfast to dinner and really appreciate the options of traditional and authentic Sri Lankan dishes on the menu.

One very small criticism would be the blind in the bathroom would be better off as two blinds rather than one for easy access, in and out.

Our whole experience was exceptional. From the staff who were caring and attentive, to the delicious, fresh and creative food choices. Location is also excellent. We would 100% recommend staying here.

The only issue we had was with other guests ‘reserving’ the limited number of loungers near the pool or in the shade. The hotel staff didn’t seem to mind if guests reserved a lounger for hours at a time without using it. In some cases, even leaving the resort property with the lounge chair ‘reserved’ with a towel and a hat. If people just used them when they wanted them, they would always be available. I wish the staff had intervened. This happened every day of our stay, was pretty aggravating. I believe Riff Hotel should revisit their policy on this.

Loved everything about the property. Excellent stay. We will return.

The behavior of some Russian guests.

It's such a beautiful Place. The people there are friendly and like a big family. Especially Benisha, such a lovely women. She has always a smile for you - I hope she will be there when i come back in a year :)
