- Wifi- it was terrible for most of the time. I had to stay on my last night until after 1-2am because I could not book a hostel for the next day. My phone does not support e-sim so I had to reply on wifi. I could not even load the booking.com page (following my trip to Sri Lanka and all issues I had- I am changing my phone). - No kitchen per say- I was under the impression from the photos I saw on here and google that there will be fridge in the kitchen. There is none. There is only plates and mugs, and a kettle. because it is so humid in Kandy- no food can survive outside. I had to throw food away. It does also give the impression they are more hospitable but no- you do not get to talk to the family much. - Cleanliness- my sheets were clean, but overall my room needed a bit more cleaning- too many spiderwebs. - It was difficult to find- my taxi went in circles a couple times until we find it..even his navigation could not find it easily and he was Sri Lankan.

Let me start with the good things: - The host was incredible kind. He showed me the pictures of his family which were in the main hall. He was very kind to tell me about his family. - they also send you an email with details around sights to see in Kandy which is quite helpful.

The location is quiet but a bit outside the center and away from the tourist spots. Another review wrote "5 minutes to temple of the tooth". Maybe if you're lucky by tuktuk, but definitely not on foot. It's not really a homestay, more like an Airbnb. It seems to be an apartment right next to where the family lives. But you don't really interact with them or see them much. There's no option to get breakfast or dinner (at least that was our impression, we didn't explicitly ask).

Great value for money, in a very quiet location. It has only two rooms and we had booked both of them, so we essentially got an entire apartment to ourselves. With spacious living room and basic kitchen. The manager was friendly and super responsive when I messaged her.

all was perfect! flexibility of the lady who run this, u have all appartment for yourself, there is balconi, the location was best in kandy-only 10 min of walking to the centre, there are books of srilanka, tea, the water heater, hot water in shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Lady Gordon's Homestay. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, it was super clean and tidy. The owners are exceptionally nice and accommodating. The location is central but still very quiet. Within 5 minutes you are at the Temple of the tooth. We will definitely be back!

In the room with balcony did not reach the internet signal. However on the table of the entrance could work without problems. There were ants but that’s no problem in ...

The host was always very attentive, the internet works wonders for those who work with platforms such as zoom, meets, etc.

The hosts were so gracious and accommodating! They took time out of their days to chat with me, talk about their culture, about the festival then going on, life, etc! They even gave me encouragement for a meditation retreat that I was about to leave for and was anxious about. I can't say enough kind things about them. And, beside the point, their place was perfectly comfortable, clean, quiet, and good value.

They have stopped providing meals due to the situation, I wish I had the pleasure of tasting their food as his wives cooking was highly rated before, maybe this Will inspire them to start ☺️

I was amazed at the level of standards maintained, spotlessly clean and neat , with a very simple layout so it's adoptable for any level of stay, had the pleasure of chatting with the husband and wife and daughter combo who's managing the home stay who was very warm and helpful, you can always feel the genuineness of them , I wish I had planned a couple of das more at the lady Gordon's home stay, lovely experience all around ❤️👌 P s shared a screen shot of my smart phone sleep score which is proof of how well I slept ☺️

Lovely homestay in Kandy, there are many reasons you should stay at Lady Gordon's Homestay but one of them is definitely the adorable and lovely couple that run the place. It just feels like being at home and you do feel so welcomed! The room is very nice and clean, same goes for the bathroom + it has hot water! It's also very well equiped, there is everything you need! Breakfast is great and you can have hoppers :) which I really love :) The location was just perfect, away from the main noisy road but still a few minutes away walking distance from the shops, restaurants and main attractions. The owner and his wife are just the most adorable people, I loved chatting to them, they are just so nice and so generous. I highly recommend Lady Gordon's Homestay !

Everything was perfect

Very nice couple. The lady was very nice and sweet and an excellent cook. They gave me a bigger room for free bz the one I ordered didn't had a balcony. Location is in a nice and quiet area. There is a kitchen you can use and also make tea for free. Nice big combined dining room and living room where you can sit and read guide books over Sri Lanka. The lady offered me to make laundry. Room was big with big balcony and hot water in the bathroom.

The area was too dark at night, I didn't feel comfortable walking back late at night alone, but there's not much to do at night in Kandy anyway, so I had no problem heading back a bit early

Lady Gordons home stay Very cozy & comfortable retro stay at Kandy (like grandma's homes), nice location close to Kandy lake & the tooth temple, but still away from the hassle & crowd, they upgraded my room cause I was the only guest at the time, which was very sweet of them. The room & bathroom were very spacious & clean, breakfast was different every morning, authentic Sri Lankan's delicious breakfast, the owners are very nice & always made sure I was back home safe at night, & helped communicating with tuk tuk drivers when I ordered them by phone & failed to give them directions, would defiantly stay there again.

Every single thing! The location is away from the trafficked area just 10 minutes from the city centre. Booking doesn't find the correct location but the hosts sent super useful information to help locate their homestay. The family was super nice, caring and kind, as soon I arrived they offered me a tea and we had a lovely chat, also suggesting me where to buy a lungi. The following day was Sri Lanka New year and the family taught me their traditions and they have been so kind to including me during breakfast preparation and eating with them. Also their daughter prepared a meal for me for dinner time, even though we never met. Staying with them has been an honour to me, and I felt I was almost part of the family! Thank you so much for everything! Please do consider this homestay!!!
