The bathroom plumbing could be fixed as it is leaking on the floor (sink was not properly fixed to the wall and tap couldn’t be closed fully)

As you are on the hill you hear all the festivities from town, but at night it was quiet.

Lovely hosts and they had their own tuk tuk drives when needed. Very helpful in every way. Small but comfortable room with own bathroom and fan. Located on a steep hill, but tuk tuk can drive there. Only 5min drive from city center. Good view of the city. Great breakfast.

No area to sit out, but we knew that when we booked it. So really we accepted the situation.

The property was very clean and basic. It is on top a hill, and while we thought it was hot when we arrived in the early afternoon, we ended up having the best sleep on this holiday. Be aware there isn’t a balcony or space to sit out. It’s in a residential area and everyone was very welcoming.

We didn’t mind too much but the property is a little away from the city centre and took about 15/20 minutes to walk into town. You can get a tuk-tuk home or walk up from the city but something to bear in mind.

Ratna is such a kind and considerate host, and the accommodation has a great set up overlooking Kandy and amongst the local bird life. Great breakfast as well. We were given lots of advice and recommendations on what to do in Kandy and were set up with multiple tuk-tuk pickups right at the door when needed.

Maybe this was poor planning on our side, but we didn't realise how hilly the location was, easily access by tuktuk though.

The owner was very lovely and recommended activities and facilitated tickets for the show. The room was spacious and clean. Good breakfast and welcome drink.

The room we booked didn’t come with an AC, but you can keep it cool with the windows open for ventilation. A mosquito net over the bed is provided.

The hosts were very helpful and welcoming, giving advice for things to do and arranging transport when needed. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location is central, though on a steep hill with some construction work midway.

We booked the Deluxe Double Room mainly because of the adjacent separate balcony which is also advertised in the pictures for the room. Hence it was quite irritating to find "our balcony" occupied by a group of girls when we came back from town one evening and again the morning after at breakfast time. The owner just let them use our space although there is a big shared seating area that was all empty. That's a no go.

The Kandyan White Holiday Homes are located in a quiet spot in the kandyan hills, only a short walk away from the railway station. The owner is friendly and always willing to give good recommendations on what to do in and around Kandy. Our room was clean and the breakfast delicious.

The view over Kandy is decent but I'm sure there are better vantage points. We thought we had booked a room with A/C but there was just a fan, however, it was perfectly fine in the more temperate Kandyan climate.

We stayed here for a night on our way South and found it to be a perfectly comfortable base from which to explore Kandy. We stayed in the attic flat across the road from the main B&B and it was a large clean room, with a kitchen, fridge and bathroom. We were greeted with a refreshing lime juice on arrival and when we woke up, we were given a nice breakfast to set us up for the day (we were informed that this changes every day based on what the owner has in stock). The owner very kindly spoke to the driver we had booked to go to Ella and recommended that we take the country road via Nuwariya Ella and the tea plantations, which was much appreciated.

A little difficult to find, we were lucky that one of the owners came out to greet our driver so that she could lead the way to the property. There are no signs indicating which property is Kandyan White Holiday Homes.

Accommodation was exceptionally clean and great value for money. The Sri Lanka couple who run this place were friendly and attentive, they greeted us with a refreshing glass of juice when my friends and I checked in. Although we only stayed one night, it felt comfortable with a fan and mosquito net over the bed. Breakfast in the morning was also plentiful and delicious.

If you’re traveling with a suitcase the way up is pretty hard so you should get a Tuktuk. You do get rewarded with a beautiful view though.

Ratna who is the owner is very warm and welcoming. He was very helpful when we wanted to organise our stay. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and comfortable. This place is very good value for money.

Currently, the road to the property is a bit difficult to walk, because there are construction works on the sides. It is not a problem, and there is no danger, but take a flashlight or have your phone charged if you want to walk during the night to the city. There are lots of stray dogs, as it is the case everywhere in the city, but they have always been peaceful, though occasionally barking. We had the room across the street from the main house, and the roof had a problem for two days which made it very noisy and we couldn't sleep well. The host fixed it, it was fine last night.

The host is extraordinarily nice, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Breakfast was great, with lots of fresh fruit and changing every day in composition. There are cute birds and squirrels who come to feed in the garden. We drank the water from the purifier in our room, and it was fine.

The owner helped me get a seat on the train to Ella even though I didn't have a reservation. He also arranged a brilliant day on a tuk tuk with a lovely driver at a reasonable rate. There were lots of birds flying around outside and the whole experience was really peaceful. A great place to catch a breeze.
