Good location set away from the noisy bars on the beach. Great pool. Reasonable breakfast. Good to go kayaking although oars are old and we got very wet. Easy walk to a very nice beach. Nice size room and bathroom.

Beautiful hotel with a nice garden and great pool. The breakfast was outstanding, both because of the good food and the view over the lagoon. The beach is right around the corner (even if we almost didn’t leave the garden, it was so beautiful…). Rooms were spacious and clean.

It was tranquil and relaxing spending time in this beautiful garden. The room was so big that it felt like a small appartement, with a secluded terrace where we had the most beautiful views. We enjoyed it completely and wheee close to the beaches and restaurants though it was quiet and peaceful at the hotel.

Just the ideal place to enjoy peaceful days on the Southern coast. Perfectly located between the beach and the lagoon, with lots of animals and diverse flowers. Kayaks available, very good breakfast. We will definitely come back next time.

A lot of mosquitoes around. Not the hotels fault of course, just so you are aware.

A very nice guest house in Tangalle. The location is superb, maybe 1 minute away from the beach and all its restaurants. The best thing was the large and clean swimming pool, which was fantastic for our kids and the garden with the pool is just gorgeous. The staff was also very friendly and accomodating. There is a lagoon in the back of the property and they have kayaks you can rent free of charge which was a nice experience. The room was large, with a small kitchen area and comfy bed with a mosquito net. No AC, just a fan.

Our spacious room, private balcony, the garden, the swimming pool and the location were all great. The family were lovely, they couldn’t do enough for us. Dinet came kayaking with us and helped us spot wildlife. They also gave us a lift back to the bus stand when we left and wouldn’t accept any money for it, so kind.

That we didn’t stay longer, 2 nights wasn’t enough :(

Everything about this property was spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the hosts were so attentive greeting us with a tea and lime juice which was nice after a sweaty walk in the sun. They offer free Kayaking and yoga in the mornings. The grounds are absolutely stunning and completely exceed the standards considering the price. The location was further away from the main ‘city’ bit but it was perfect as it was where all the beach restaurants and bars are which is where we spent all our time anyway. Just fabulous stay and would highly recommend Hidden Garden Tangalle to everyone!

It is really a hidden garden. I wnjoyed very much. Good value for money with nice surroundings, close to the beach and nice pool facilities. There is a yoga shala and private lessons on request. Very nice place!

We loved our stay here. It is located just steps from the gorgeous beaches of Tangalle, yet quiet and peaceful in it’s own extensive gardens. I really don’t think the photos on this site do it justice! The pool is very clean and so calm. We loved the breakfasts, the kayaks, and the incredible variety of bird life visible from your own balcony. I had a massage on-site which was VERY good. The staff are so kind and welcoming, we felt very relaxed and at home. Thank you ❤️

Hello everyone, as the name of the accommodation indicates, the Hidden Garden is calm and beautiful place. With one shortcut, it is located just 50m from the beach. The hosts are very kind, helpful and make very tasty breakfast. And the Tangalle area is just wonderful - long and lovely beaches with beautiful sunsets.

The Hotel is amazing. Beautiful rooms and surroundings. It’s a quiet place but everything, beach, restaurants are only a 3 minute walk away. The owners are also very nice and helpful. We were sad we only had one night in the Hidden Garden. We would definitely come back again.

I cannot think of one thing I didn't like.

This is a little piece of paradise. The family that run the Hidden Garden are really lovely. The place is so amazing and peaceful. You are 2 minutes from the beach, I could hear the waves from my balcony. I saw monkeys, parrots, lizards and other birds from my balcony. You're in the trees, so plenty of shade for pale people like me. The pool was so clean and never busy. They have Kayaks they let you use for free and a sunset kayak around the lagoon and through the mangroves was really special. I loved staying here. Absolutely amazing. Thank you Hidden Garden.

Nothing! I thought we would miss the airco. But actually the fan in combination with all windows open (there were mosquito nets everywhere!) was way more comfortable.

Everything! This is the best accommodation we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka. I so wanted to chill and lay down in a hammock - and this is exactly what was possible in Hidden Garden! It was so peaceful, great swimming pool, possibility to kayak. Breakfast was great and very reasonable priced. Next to that the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Very warm and calm atmosphere, very nice staff that makes everything for you, a nice room and generous breakfast. The pool in the lovely garden is a perfect place for relaxation. Also enjoyed watching the wild monkeys surrounding the garden.

Fabulous location - it really is a 'Hidden Garden" of tranquillity just a few minutes from the lovely beach at Tangalle. One of the cleanest swimming pools we have ever seen. Lots of wildlife - monkeys, chipmunks, monitor lizards, giant squirrels, bee-eaters, king-fishers, egrets, waterbuffalo. But best of all are the wonderful family who run Hidden Garden. They are genuinely kind and helpful and cook the most delicious breakfasts (plus evening meals on request).

In room facilities were a tiny bit basic, but all very clean and adequate. BYO shampoo though.

Free kayaking through the mangroves was a highlight. The pool was wonderful (even more beautiful in the rain). The staff were very helpful, kind and attentive. They also helped us organise a tour and transport to our next destination.
