I mean it when I say that this may be my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Mainly because it doesn’t really feel like a hotel - more like a gorgeous personal space with incredible staff on hand to help with whatever you need. My girlfriend and I didn’t want to leave. The food was a particular highlight - essentially anything you pick off the menu, you’ll love. The beach is less than a 10 minute walk away if that. I wish I could go back, it really is special.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was perfect. The hotel is small and therefore quite calm, even though it is in the middle of Hiriketiya. The room, the bed and the other facilities were great. The staff was amazing and always there to help. The food was great too. Breakfast every morning was a treat (and lots of choices) and the lunch and dinner options are really good too. We really felt like home and, even after booking a few additional nights, we were super sad to leave. Without a doubt our favourite stay in Sri Lanka and maybe even my favourite stay anywhere ever. We recommend this place to everyone!!

Location couldn’t be better as can walk to the beach and lovely bars and restaurants. But really quiet and chilled too. Rooms spotless and the staff are just fantastic. The food at the villa not to be missed …we had an evening meal and it couldn’t have been better. Really recommend as privacy and quiet of a villa but completely looked after like a hotel with food and service. Want beach which is 5 mins walk away is incredible.

The property is situated off the main road about 5mins walk to the stunning hiriketiya beach. Rented as a whole villa to groups and families in the on season they do let out rooms individually on the off season. We fell in love immediately with the layout of the villa; you’re welcomed with a generous outdoor seating area perfect for afternoon tea/ coffee/ beer (depending on your plans for the evening) which then ushers you into the biggest pool we’ve seen so far on our trip! The rooms themselves are light, well sized, exceptionally clean and built with quality furnishings; guaranteed a comfy nights sleep here. And this is all without mentioning the thing that really makes ginger palm villa the best place to stay in Sri Lanka: the staff. Suranaga will take you to Dickwella beach and ensure you meet some turtles in the wild, Nilantha is always around to make your stay as comfortable and easy going as possible with excellent service and his charming smile, Sandeep who heads up the place is a wealth of local knowledge and all round amazing guy, not to mention the chef who cooks food so good we ended up ignoring the majority of nearby restaurants! These are just a few of the people who have made it very difficult to leave this place but no doubt we will be back very soon with the friends and family we’ll be raving to about this gem we found in Hiriketiya.

This is a beautiful place in Hiriketiya- the property is homely, clean, comfortable and very tastefully designed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as are all of the common areas. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff deserve a special mention- they were so welcoming, friendly and hospitable during our stay. Best place to stay in Hiriketiya!

- Super new villa, where you can book a room separately or with multiple couples/families. All rooms* are decorated with great taste and are kept very school. - There is a permanent group of staff present, who are both professional and personal. Everyone speaks good English and together they make sure you lack for nothing. They feel very well what you need as a guest and everything is possible. They taught us to play the local game Carrom, took us to Turtle beach so we could swim with sea turtles. Unique experience!!! - Throughout the whole day it is possible to eat. The cook is really fantastic and makes the most delicious dishes, from breakfast (only place we ate yogurt with fresh granola) to dinner (we ate one of the most delicious Sri Lankan currys, as well as daily fresh fish in banana leaf. Jammm!). European food and children's portions are also available. - Everything you think of to feel at home is present in the villa, from practical matters to the atmosphere. Three nights felt like far too short a stay. We would have loved to spend three weeks here too. Especially thanks to the outstanding staff! In short, a perfect review for a perfect place! * Downstairs are the shared areas, enough to feel like retreating somewhere if there are several guests: a lounge area (both indoors and outdoors), a dining room, a TV/children's room with games and (color) books, a bar and of course the pool Upstairs are the four spacious suites, again beautifully furnished with lovely beds and with all the practicalities such as water, coffee/tea, fridge, safe, toiletries etc. The bathroom is also very spacious, clean and with lovely shower.
