Only downside is obviously it’s up the side of the mountain so tuk tuk is needed to main centre of Ella and back but cost barely anything so still well worth the stay

Nilu, the host was friendly, generous and accomodating. She always asks what I need. She accepted my request to prepare a local Sri Lankan dinner at short notice and it was delicious. The location is close to the Ella Train station and town once you know the shortcut through the train tracks. The view from the balcony outside the rooms is amazing and with the sound of nature. The room and bathroom are large and spacious. Highly recommend this homestay. I did the Ella rock and Little Adam's peak hike by walking from this homestay. It's convenient if you enjoy walking.

Wi-Fi was spotty at times. Far to walk from the city center & the way is not well lit up at night.

Clean facilities, superb view overlooking Ella Rock, exceptional breakfast and extremely kind hosts. Wi-Fi was spotty at moments and the location was a bit far off to walk from the city center but all the other aspects compensated for that. I wholeheartedly recommend this homestay to everyone visiting Ella.

Our favorite stay in Sri Lanka! Nilu is such a wonderful and attentive host. She received us with tea when we arrived. The views from the balcony were amazing, and early in the morning you can hear the birds, so beautiful! The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom is brand new, great water pressure and hot water. The breakfast was delicious and very abundant, and she gave us several breakfast options. A short walk to town and train station via the railroad tracks, and they gave us a ride to the train station early in the morning because we had our backpacks. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay, we would definitely stay here again if we come back to Ella!

The view from the balcony is unreal, I think the best view you can get in Ella. Also, the rooms are clean and spacious. On top, the hosts are great, the owners are super kind and helped us with everything (with tuktuk rides & breakfast at 5am to bring along). I would recommend this place to everyone!

The room has a beautiful view of Ella Rock. The host family was so lovely and helpful and provided us with everything we needed. The place is in a good location, with a quick walk along the train tracks down to the Main Street of Ella. Also, we can highly recommend to try their homecooked SriLankan breakfast!

Room is basic, but not in a way that we weren't expecting based on the pictures, price, and location.

We loved the location - a ~10 minute walk from Ella along the railroad tracks, but with the feel of being in the jungle. The view of the waterfall and animals in the forest was fantastic - we saw monkeys and birds. The room is basic, but fit our needs. The wifi worked well too. Each morning, we looked forward to a big, delicious breakfast. The host was extremely nice and helpful! Enjoyable place to spend a few days.

Beautiful peaceful place to stay with an incredible view. Great location- quiet and relaxing away from the hussle of Ella town however only 10mins walk via railway track to the centre. Clean and comfortable room, good hot water and lovely outdoor seating area with views of Ella rock. Breakfast was fantastic- best we had in Sri Lanka. Hosts were so kind, friendly and helpful with suggestions and recommendations- if you get the chance to stay here I would 100% recommend it for your trip to Ella

It would have been nice to have a kettle with coffee/tea cups in the room.

We loved our stay at Chamodya and are sad to have stayed only 1 night. The room is very spacious, bed is comfortable and comes with a mosquito net. It's so peaceful, you can chill on the terrace outside and absorb the beautiful view. It's a 10 min walk to the centre of Ella, there's a shortcut through the train tracks. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Srilanka with fruits, juice, pancakes, hoppers, dhal, etc. Nilu, the owner, was kind and friendly.
