Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SerbiaPart of the hotel was undergoing renovation during my stay. I was mostly outside during this time (approx. 11am - 2pm and 3pm - 6pm, but I don't remember the specific times), so it never bothered me, but it could be a problem for someone looking to stay inside.
Everyone in the hotel is very friendly and approachable. The room had everything I needed and the breakfast was good and tasty. Minimal issues with everything, highly recommend!

MalaysiaHot water at night is too hot and can't be adjusted so just have to be careful. An extra pillow in a single room would be helpful. A bit of variety in breakfast would be good. I asked for an airport pick up and messaged twice for confirmation but didn't get a reply and no car was sent. It's cheaper if you take a taxi from the airport using yandex.
Location was perfect. It's near hotel kazakhstan and dostky ave. A lot of money changers and food places around. Room was comfortable and it had an attached bathroom. The receptionist Makhabbat was very welcoming and speaks English. She was very helpful in anything I need and arranged for me the sauna too. Breakfast was a good buffet style. Wifi was working well

United Arab EmiratesThey can improve the breakfast like inserting even just one variety of salad.
The location of the place is near the Kok Tobe cable car. At first you find it looks like your far from the center but its near actually. Its walking distance. Its near the Kazakhstan Hotel. There is Korean restaurant in front of the hotel. :) :) :) For those who are not a meat lover like me, its a big plus. Price is just right for a 3 star hotel.

🏞️ Overall good experience at Alma Hotel. Excellent location and wonderful views! Strongly recommend this part of Almaty to stay in, near Kok Tobe Góndola station, Abay square, Hotel Kazakhstan and lots of restaurants! 📧 Email contact was in Russian but once there the members of staff do speak English. They offered airport transfer, which was a convenient option and the driver waited patiently for me despite flight being delayed by over 40 minutes. Staff are not overly friendly but cordial enough. My room was small but fine, strong air con. Breakfast was upstairs at the Ribs restaurant with amazing views. Not bad selection but the views were the highlight 🏞️

KazakhstanThe room was very small, old style ,no complimentary water, booking was for 3 people: for me and 2 my children. And it was only one option on booking. No kettle. One of the towels was dirty,as if it wasn't changed after previous guests. The hotel has sauna, which you need to book before. The swimming pool is used as a cold refreshing after sauna . Breakfast is very limited, and after 10 am we found 3 boiled eggs ,1 sausage , and poridge ,we had to ask if they going to bring something else and wait ,even cutleries, glasses for water, and even water wasn't there. Second morning we came earlier, and can confirm that breakfast in this hotel is very limited choice. I would prefer to book room without breakfast.
The location is very good, everything is in walking distance: hill gondola, restaurants, parks . Quite location regarding traffic, but there were some construction going on.The room was clean in general.

KazakhstanI like this place!) As an intovert I'm happy here.
I like this place, and it's my second visit to Alma. 'cause of location: if I need to visit Almaty Center (esp. Golden Square), I find this place quite good to stay for a weekend or saturday night. And yeah: breakfasts are on the 5th floor again! See photos.

FranceThere were some issues with the water. The tap water wasn't hot immediately, so you may need to wait at least a minute before taking a shower. The noise isolation isn't very good, but it's tolerable. You may mistake the sound of a door slamming in the next room for noise in your own room. The air conditioning system is noisy, BUT it cools the room quickly. If you're a foreigner, be aware that the cost of living in the hotel is higher than what is specified on Booking.com. The receptionist explained that this is due to a normal tourist tax for foreigners. Honestly, after being charged 18,300 KZT by a taxi driver from the airport to the hotel (which is several times more expensive than the average taxi price in the city), this approach did not come as a surprise, though it can be frustrating for travelers on a budget.
Overall, my stay at the hotel was pleasant. The bed linen was changed every day, although sometimes they forgot to add an extra towel, but this was easily fixed with a phone call. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great, but it's best to arrive earlier than 11 am to ensure that there is still food available. The location is convenient, with Koktobe within walking distance and the metro just a few minutes away. There are also many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity. The room is well furnished, there's everything for those who come for a business trip. There is also a sauna and pool complex available for guests. However, the water in the pool is ice-cold, which may not be suitable for everyone.

KazakhstanThe breakfast was quite bad. A lot of tables were empty but dirty. The staff were quite loathe to clean up. The breakfast buffet was rarely restocked. We ate at different times and the result was always the same; empty platters and dry sausages. The room humidity was extremely high and the floor in the bathroom was stone cold. The room was cleaned twice during our stay. Not all of the towels were provided, we had to request them and that was met with some pushback from staff.
The location and rates are quite good. Unfortunately the best parts end there. While the receptionists and front desk staff are very helpful, the rest of the staff are less so.
