Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaThe walls/doors are quite thin, so outside noise (doors closing/talking) in the hallway was constantly heard throughout the night. You may find it uncomfortable if you're a light sleeper.
The location was great, close to the subway line and bus stop. Response from the host was efficient and precise. Great value for money. It's similar to a small one room, or large goshiwon - got all the amenities you need and would be a great option if you were spending a few days in Daejeon.

AustraliaThe place was very difficult to find. Booking.com "get directions" directed me to somewhere in Seoul. There was no English language signage on the building, making it difficult to find for non Korean literate guests. My requests for help were met with little response.
The accommodation was good standard.

South KoreaNo kettle (but this really is nit picking). If the washing machine does not have a dryer option, then clothes in the winter months can only be hung up to dry.
Efficient and practical use of space made it a very enjoyable stay. Property is secure and near a metro for easy access to sights in Daejeon. The owner (Kane) was very prompt in answering my questions before the stay.

LithuaniaThe location is outside the city center, but it is 5 min to the metro station and up to 20 min to get to the center. So it is not a problem at all. No kettle :( And no trash bin.
The room size was good, for solo travelers. There are not a lot of restaurant options around, but there are big emart24 only 3 min away from the property. Chill and quiet area. Self check in.

United States- The mattress had lots of crumbs from a previous resident, so I think the bedding could be cleaner. - The walls were really thin, so you could hear the other residents clear their throats or cough. However, everyone else seemed respectful and tried to be quiet after 10 PM or so.
Note: This Sangmin Sweet is owned by the same guy as the other booking on this site, Sangmin Suite. I accidentally had to stay an extra night, and I booked this one for it, and asked him to let me stay in the same room so that I could leave my stuff. Same pros: - Private room and bathroom with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner - Free towels - Laundry machine and powder laundry detergent (for free, it seemed) - Microwave and water cooler down the hallway - 4 minute’s walk from the subway station, and overall not too far from the city hall area

South KoreaThere is no front desk. No staff. Lack of basic supplies.
This is not a hotel nor a motel. It's like a very old one room oficetel. There is no front desk and no staff. It's reasonably clean, but there were a few small towels. No bath towel, no coffee, and not even drinking water. I accidentally left my electric toothbrush there. No luck with this place.

ItalyThe room was small but above all, very very dirty. Someone stayed clearly in the room before my arrival and the place hasn’t been cleaned after that. The bed was not tidy, there were human hair on the bed, on the floor and in the toilet. The wc wasn’t even flushed! And the toilet seats was covered by yellow stains of piss on the lower face. That’s disgusting. The trash bin hadn’t been emptied and there were inside trash and balls of hair. I mean, it’s a rather cheap accommodation and I don’t expect it to be a castle, but a bit of decency I do. Go somewhere else, it might be cheap but not enough.
The position was good, close to the metro station but in a quiet residential area. The metro station is not far from some of the ones with more nightlife thought, so it’s pretty easy to reach all the most interesting neighborhoods of the city. There is no receiving all and you never get to meet the owner of the place, you access your room with a coded door, but the instructions from the owner were precise and exhaustive
