Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaNot to do specifically with the hotel, but the adjacent bar they encourage you to visit is dingy and the food isn't good. I was there during low season so not any foreigners to mingle with and locals that were at the hostel stuck together.
Very good price, bed was pretty uncomfortable (but hard beds seem to be the norm in South Korea and I was sore from hiking). Shared kitchen was clean-ish (on par with what they usually are). Appreciated the free parking spaces.

NetherlandsGreat campfire evenings might result in some noise during the night.
Great stay with a good location and friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast is also excellent compared to other hostels. The room was clean and efficiently set up. There's a nice campfire in the evening, which is great for connecting with fellow travelers. You'll have some great evenings there.

GermanyI felt super comfortable as a solo traveler because the staff and other guests were super helpful and open. The location is great to walk the coast or connect to public transport for Hallasan. The bonfire in the yard surrounded by the dogs was super inviting. And the bunk bed was pretty comfortable too, that's a plus. Would definitely come back again.

PolandEverything was really good
Hostel is located very close to the city centre, many restaurants and food market. They also have a free parking if you have a rented car. Personnel is nice and helpful. Rooms are clean, big enough and beds are comfortable. On the top floor there is a terrace with a really nice view. And last but the most important thing - there are three beautiful dogs that are really friendly and love cuddles :)

GermanyThe kitchen/indoor communal area isnt that big so if you cant use the outdoor space (eg. in case of rain) you dont have that many options.
The rooms were very spacious and every bed in my room had its own courtain which gave them an extra level of privacy. The bathroom was clean and shampoo etc including toothpaste was provided. The court was pretty big and it was nice to sit around the fire to talk to other travellers. In Seogwipo the hostel is well located you cab reach pretty much everything in a walk. Busses to everywhere else on the island start from different stops, all within a few minutes.

Czech RepublicThey don't clean the room during your stay, which is ok if you're staying for one or two nights, but can be a bit inconvenient if you're staying longer.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Always willing to help, to chat, to give advice...the best I've met.

South KoreaI didn't know there are three big dogs living there, and I am allergic. Thankfully it wasn't a problem, as they are often outside. Also there was a bbq party advertised, but when I asked to participate, it was not available. Finally, the showers are very good, but the hot water doesn't get very hot. It's not a big problem as it is sufficient, but seogwipo can be very windy and cold!
I had a great stay at backpacker's home. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. I also met some really friendly guests there. The facility was in an unexpectedly great location, as I really enjoy walking the olle trails. There are three separate trails starting across the street from the home. Even though I booked my stay with no plans, it was fun and easy to make them! I really loved my roommates as well, and even had a night alone, as I stayed during the off season. I was surprised that they have a camp fire every night and a pub next door. It provided a good atmosphere to get to know other guests. I had sworn off guesthouses in the past due to a bad experience, but really enjoyed my stay at backpacker's and would happily stay there again!

PhilippinesNice room and buffet breakfast. The staff are accommodating too. One of them (forgot to ask the name) even drove me to the nearest bus stop so I can take the bus to the airport since taxi's expensive. Kudos to you! 감사해요! 😊 I wasn't able to join their bbq party as I always come home late. Maybe next time I visit Jeju. I will definitely stay here again.

United KingdomVery social, which is always a highlight for a solo traveller. The location was pretty central to everything, you could walk to most places of that city area. The guesthouse owners and/or workers were also very polite, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were big which was good (as I had so much luggage) and the beds were really comfy.
