Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandEverything is pretty old and falling apart but thats not a problem. When I saw the bed though, I nearly left again, couldnt wait to go somewhere else. The bedding was definitely not washed and had lots of crumbs, hair and what I believe was old skin or something. Just disgusting, good thing I had a pillowcase and my small blanky with me.
Good location, easy check in, towels and shampoo

SpainThe attitude of the owner. We arrived around 12pm and called the owner. Normally, check-in in Korean hotels is at 3pm. So I asked on the phone if it's ok that we drop our things and come back at 3pm. He said yes. So at 3pm we check-in into our room. No wardrobe and no ac as stated in the description of the property. We ask about it the owner. Instead of trying to accommodate us, he orders us to get out of the room right away coz we 'violated the rules of the hostel' since the check-in is at 4pm in this place and 'we are not suitable for this hostel' .But he himself told on the phone that's ok for us to come at 3pm! So a short squabble started, I requested to refund money, then he said 'ok, you can stay or you can go'. We stayed. It's not important we use ac or not. If it's written in the description of the room, it should be there.
The location - not touristy, all-Korean area with everything you need just few meters away.

PolandIt was freezing cold at night in the room. We asked the staff for extra blanket but didn’t get it (even though they said they’ll bring it). I cannot say the room was actually clean because we found plenty of hair everywhere
I liked the location and the prices. It is also nice that they provide water dispenser in the corridor.

South KoreaThe place is hard to find. It is the 3rd floor of a very old small house. There is no real reception desk, and better make sure the owner is there when you come. The hallway is disorganized and bears every testimony to the delapidated shape of the building - so (I hope!) you will be very relieved when you open your room door...
The owner is friendly and rooms seem recently refurbished and clean (unlike what it looks from outside!). All basic facilities are there. For this price it is surely ok, especially for young people and short-term backpack-style stay, it is a lively area near Seoul Nat'l University with many small restaurants.

DenmarkEverything! Dont go there!
Nothing. It was the worst place i ever slept in. Tape on the doors. All the rooms had easy door code. The smelled so bad of toilet cleaner and i barely breath. The blanket and bed linnet was had a pee smell. I booked another place in the same evening. Wondering why it is possible to rent this place on this homepage. Its okay its not the best, since it was cheap. But at least you have the rights to have a nice sleep

ThailandNothing to like about this place at all.
There was nothing to like about this property, difficult to find and when I phoned to ask for directions, the phone was answered and hung up . Poor customer service .When we eventually found it there was no air conditioning in the room as advertised just a fan . This is false advertising and when I queried it I was told it was cool season and that they were changing from air conditioning to fans , this is very strange as it is just about coming into the hot season. The place was very tired looking and the stairway was filthy , does not look like any cleaning is done at all. No kichen just a Ho water and a microwave, no cups so could not make a coffee in the morning, you really have to be desperate to stay here.

United KingdomIt's called the '1975' Yurim Inn because that's the last time it was decorated or cleaned!! Filthy entrance lobby covered in dust, carpets worn through to the backing, bits hanging off the wall, etc. The room was more basic than I could possibly have imagined, again with bits coming away from the wall, hair on the bed, no attempt at decoration or even a nice picture just to cheer it up a bit!. The bathroom fittings were covered in whatever it is bathroom fittings get covered in, although the shower did at least work and the place was underfloor heated (visit was early March). Not staffed, so nobody to complain to. You couldn't pay me enough to stay there again!
It wasn't far from the station. The shower was warm, and the room was heated. That's pretty much it!

South KoreaThe common area is not maintained properly. The toilet door is little bit problematic.
The location was very convenient and near the metro station. There are many good affordable food options nearby. The room was manageable with good floor heating. The bedding and room were clean.
