Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyVery nice and quiet location at the end of the long sandy beach. Be ready to walk if you are looking for food and restaurants, although they have a restaurant themselves, too. Very cheap prices, bungalows are very basic however (with possibility that small animals come in through the many holes in walls and floor)

Fantastic staff. We could pay for everything on card (food, ferry, accommodation) which was really helpful. The best dinner we had in Cambodia.

United StatesThe bathroom shower did not work, and there were quite a few bugs. Thank god for the mosquito nets!
Breakfast was simple but good; the entire menu was really yummy!! Especially loved the coconut soup. The location was great, I liked that it was a little more private. Sam was an exceptional host! Loved the ambiance and peacefulness.

DenmarkFor this price, the conditions provided made me feel uncomfortable. Mosquitos were getting inside the bed, despite the mosquito net provided. You can find dust, larvae, insect eggs, ants in the room and bathroom. I understand it is a a simple bungalow, but seems like no one cleaned it before our arrival. There was also some dirt on the bedsheets.
We really enjoyed talking with our hosts, they helped us with booking transport and were nice to talk with. There are snorkel sets, a few books and board games available at the common area, and the restaurant was tasty and had reasonable prices. It is a really chilled place, far from the noise. Good point to make a walk to the lighthouse and the lazy beach.

Sri LankaBungalows are getting a bit tired. The surrounding resorts along the beach are being knocked down to make way for big developments, it’s sad to see a lost primitive paradise
The resort has lovely gardens, nice wharf to catch the afternoon sunset in the breeze with a drink. Restaurant served up deliciously good meals

Italyposition is good if you want to stay at Saracen bay on the eastern side of the island. Mangrove beach bungalows are located at one end of saracen bay (south end) so you need to consider about 30 min walk if you want to reach the other side of the bay and then another 35 min if you want to cross the island and reach the western beaches
position close to Paradise Pier , friendly staff, good restaurant at reasonable prices, calm atmosphere, good communication prior to arrival

United Kingdom- No hot water which wasn’t mentioned on booking - Shower head was not attached to the wall - Bungalow is ran down and let’s all of the insects/reptiles in. There was a gecko, frog and lots of mosquitos in our bungalow. - WiFi only available in the restaurant. - There was some confusion when we tried to order a taxi boat as the restaurant goes by “Dolphin” where as our booking was “Mangrove”. This wasn’t ideal when we first arrived as it took us an hour to sort a taxi boat.
- Good communication from host - Friendly staff - Towels and bed linen were provided despite the listing saying it is an additional fee which was nice - When we asked for hot water, Dan kindly filled a bucket for us to shower with - Mosquito net provided - Food was nice and not too expensive - Sun loungers and hammocks outside

United KingdomOur bungalow in particular wasn’t able to keep out what lives outside! We tended to house a few geckos, plenty of mosquitos and even a mouse (made worse by a pretty heavy thunderstorm + rain), but there are mosquito nets which help throughout the night. There isn’t any warm water from the showers and our shower head had seen better days, but if the weather is nice it won’t matter. The food wasn’t the best (from why we tried). the omelettes were nice but for evening meals we ended up heading into town beyond the first pier.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout. The bungalows are at the far end of Saracen beach (a good 20 minute walk to the centre where most of the restaurants are - however there are 1-2 closer that are ok!), but this does mean that you’re away from the noise and have a small section of the bay to yourselves. There are plenty of hammocks about and sun beds/chairs to relax

FranceThe location is wonderful, the view magnificent, but the hotel is completely abandoned. What a shame when you see the potential of the place and the beauty of the place where it is placed. The bungalows are really in very poor condition: The walls are totally broken, some plates are ready to come off, big holes everywhere, some bungalows even have missing ceiling pieces, you really don't have to be demanding!! I sincerely believe that without serious renovations as soon as possible, the bungalows will collapse one after the other even before the next season. The outdoor space is unfortunately like the bungalows: Full of potential but completely abandoned. The access bridge to the hotel is completely destroyed and left in ruins, which makes access complicated and rather dangerous, the wooden terraces near the sea are in very poor condition and unusable for some, only green areas are really well maintained. In short, there is a real lack of will on the part of the owners or managers, because this hotel could really be a pearl on the island. Small trickery concerning the establishment which is now called on Booking “Mangrove Beach Bungalow”, but which is actually “Dolphin Bay”. Only the name of the establishment has changed, and only on the internet. Surely to start again on new bases concerning the comments that the Dolphin Bay could have received before. Regarding the restaurant, the food served was really good. And concerning the manager, despite his rather changeable moods and attitudes, helped us when we needed it (with more or less desire, but the result was there), that's why my rating is not lower. Please, do something for this place that deserve so much more than being abandoned !!!
The location is wonderful, the view magnificent and the food at the restaurant was very good !

United KingdomThere was no power, we weren’t aware about this before we arrived. It was switched via a generator on from 6pm (when it is already dark) to 3am meaning the fan switches off half way through the night so it is difficult to sleep. Room was quite outdated and needs some attention.
A nice location not too far from the restaurants in the bay. Staff were really friendly and were always helping out

Staff 100% sound, food delicious, room clean, bed comfy, wooden hut on beach..my inner child was de delighted. Highly recommend for those looking a break from everyone or anything.
