Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Kenya1. No courtesy fringes like sugar sachets, salt, instant coffee, and mosquito repellent. 2. There wasn’t a replenishment of toilet rolls. 3. The electronic appliances were old (kettle was very old even on the inside, so was the burner, the fridge was too old, and there was no way to watch Television as it didn’t have smart apps. 4. There is no direct way of contacting the premises if say something needs replenishing or if one has a question. 5. One has to rely on the guard to answer in-person questions 6. It was a bit stingy to give only one 50ml bottle of water. 7. The rooms need upgrading to bring out the full potential of this place. 8. No laundry machine this means one has to pay for someone to wash clothes.
1. It is quiet 2. It is private 3. Dogs add an extra security 4. Check in and checkout is seamless 5. All rooms are well ventilated 6. Would love to visit with the host again. 7. This property is serene and if the owner could realize the potential it has, they can make the customer service experience more pleasant. It has very big room for improvement as reflected below.

After long deliberations and quite hostile discussions they let me go. Almost missed my flight because of this nonsense. Please be alert if you should decide to stay there!

United StatesThere was no welcome from any of the staff, in fact I did not see any staff there at any point in my stay except the security staff and bumping into Joy when I went to enquire about wifi. This made the stay feel quite impersonal and that no one particularly cared if I was comfortable or not. A welcome note with the wifi code would be a great addition! Maybe a kettle and basic tea/coffee making facilities too. The night guard's dogs were also a problem for me. They were very friendly but I'm not a dog personal particularly so having the German Shepherd jump up on me was quite intimidating. He was just saying hello but he was also about the same size as me so it was a bit overwhelming and I felt a bit uneasy leaving my apartment after that. There must be a better solution so that the dogs can stretch their legs but guests like me can feel comfortable too. Finally, the last morning I was there the wifi dropped out so I couldn't order an uber. The security guard spoke to one of the staff on my behalf to try to help. They suggested that I hail a cab from the main road, rather than order me one. Not good! Making sure your guests are taken care of should be your number 1 priority! I had to ask the local gas station if I could use their wifi (they very kindly said yes) otherwise I would've been stranded.
