The attention to details and the authentic service and cultural experience was amazing. A private multi course dining experience was a highlight along with the beautiful onsen and people there.

A beautiful ryokan with the most incredible private onsens in the rooms. We had the mountain view room, which meant we could open our window from the spring bath and look out over the temple and mountains. The staff were so kind, they made it a wonderful experience. Although in a relatively rural setting, the hotel is only a 5 min walk to the train station.

We liked everything about the place.

Our stay at Yatsuankan was one of the highlights of our trips to Japan. The people who run the ryokan were very friendly and helpful. The location of the ryokan with views that look over the river across a scenic view was amazing. The meal service was a definite highlight, with each 4-course meal served in a different room by a staff that was very kind and courteous, as well as the very relaxing hot bath onsen that was available at the ryokan. The ryokan itself is very beautiful to walk around and explore, and they have a gift store with many tempting reasonable priced items available for purchase. We were there during cherry blossom time, and the views of the blossoms from our window and from the riverside near the inn were exceptional. One evening, the inn offered a bus ride to see cherry blossoms illuminated at night. The hotel was a short walk from the train station, and when we notified the ryokan of our arrival time, they brought a van to the station to pick up our luggage. What service! A truly memorable experience. This is our second time staying at Yatsusankan, and we look forward to the time when we can return.

Very nice and helpful staff, a beautiful view from the room, the futons were very confortable and the common areas very peaceful and quite with nice massage chair. Would have loved to stay longer just to enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the baths...

Nothing would define this place better than: details. You'll find one of the best places to stay with amazing and numerous staff who'll do everything to make you feel like royalty. Everything is focus on perfection, care and attention, from the decoration to the comfort of the beds to the views, the food and the facilities (public and private baths). This is a must if it is within your budget

It was its own little sanctuary. Quiet & peaceful, with great views from our bath over to the mountains. The staff made us feel like the centre of their attention. Loved our first experience of an onsen. Would definitely come back.

Everything was amazing! the staff were accommodating, the food was impeccable, the room was gorgeous and had had beyond all the needed amenities. The whole experience was perfect and we can't wait to come back. They even gave me a space to put my glasses when they noticed I was wearing one. The view from the hotel and in the dining area was beautiful! Highly recommended!!

We had a wonderful stay at Yatsusankan the staff were so polite and helpful and the food was delicious. The location was perfect and we enjoyed our 2 night stay enormously. We also loved our time in the onsen.

1. The hotel is closed to the river and the temple, very clean, very friendly staff and helpful. 2. The service is superb as well as the free shuttle bus from train station and hotel. 3. The food is good and delicious.

All staff are extraordinary friendly and professional! A warm welcome and greeting from an old man at the front entrance before we arrive. The food is more than delicious, the quality is highly commendable! The view from our room is perfect as we can enjoy the sunset and sunrise! Nicely located next to the river to feel a downshifting lifestyle. The public bath area is not large but really comfortable to enjoy a private time too.

Nothing! It was perfect.

Everything was incredible. The room with the Mountain View was beautiful. I spent so much time in the open air bath and it was so relaxing. The Kaiseki meals were some of the best and most authentic meals I ever had. The staff is so lovely too. Every detail was perfect, down to them waving goodbye to us as we left. Highly recommend!!!
