Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe food and the mass of people in the cafeteria. The staff there were great, but it was hectic, and generic. I didn't think the directions to get to the hotel from the airport were clear.
Location close to the airport. The food was like a cafeteria - non-descript. I would have gone out into Tokyo, for fresher better food. It was extremely clean. A huge hotel.

The onsen/public bath was amazing and relaxing. Loved the view and the outdoor section. 5 min walk from international departures.

United Arab EmiratesThe message response from staff in the hotel is very slow. I left my glasses and wallet at the hotel when I check-out from the hotel, I contacted the hotel right that day to ask if they had my glasses or not, but it took them 2 days to response back to my message.
The check-in process was very smooth, rather than waiting in line for someone to check up in there is a vending machine type that you just need your passport to check-in. The hotel is located right inside Haneda airport which is very nice.

FinlandBreakfast is jam-packed by 7:30 am, but there's nothing the hotel can do about it in my opinion. Just plan accordingly. For people coming from places with laxer rules: check-in starts promptly at 3 p.m., don't expect it a second sooner and be prepared for a throng of people lining up. One thing that I wish was different that could be changed: the loungewear provided in the rooms was a Japanese-size M. It would be nice if it were possible to indicate the need for a larger size during the booking (and that larger sizes did mean you need to be 1.80 m tall).
The location is superb. I knew I was going to be braindead coming off a long flight that was arriving way too early in the morning, so was excited to not have to navigate very far the first day. I paid for both breakfast and spa access and both were well worth the money. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to and from Tokyo Disneyland and another to and from Shibuya/Shinjuku/Akihabara and they ran like clockwork (thank you to the drivers!). I loved breakfast; there was something for everyone, whether you wanted Japanese food for breakfast or more Western-style breakfast. The in-room safe was massive!

JapanIt was confusing to find the restaurant for breakfast, elevators, and hot spring. The card should be clearer showing A, B, etc… bigger and the signs should be there. Also no storage.
