Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We were looking for a convenient location to bookend our trip to Naoshima and Teshima. If you want 5 star, then this property is not for you. But is was perfectl for us - very close to ferry, welcoming staff,. Breakfest was effectively a design yourself bagel which was perfect to set us up for the day. Room was small - but bathroom was perfectly adequate for a night. Price was accordingly not 5 star. I thought it was great value for money

Czech RepublicThe room was a traditional tatami room and we loved it (have the one with kimono as a decoration). Staff was absollutely amazing and helpful. Thanks to them we enjoyed perfect stay and found wonderful restaurant. Hotel is in perfect location for anyone going to Naoshima or Teshima as it is right across the street from the ferry.

IsraelThe private bathroom is not in the room so every time we had to get dressed (with the robe and sandals that the hotel provides) walk along an aisle to get to a common bathroom’s area where every room has his own bathroom. This was quite inconvenient and I didn’t understand it when I booked.
The location is perfect 2 minutes’ walk from the train station and 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry All the staff are young very nice and enthusiastic people, willing to help and with perfect English (a rare thing in Japan) The room was beautiful Japanese style and also a big room (also rare in Japan) The breakfast was good

AustraliaLocation across the road from the ferry. Wonderful staff who welcomed us, kept our luggage, explained everything we needed to know about getting to Naoshima and Teshima, the fantastic fresh bagel breakfast! Everything. We couldn’t recommend Uno Port Inn highly enough! The onsen at Uno is amazing and great local restaurants. We could have stayed longer than one night as it’s a good way to spend a day at Teshima and then travel on to Naoshima the next day.

FranceThe room was the perfect size for a short trip (2 day), and the hotel is perfectly located to travel to the islands Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima. Right in front of the ferry station. We travel back and forth every day and it wasn't difficult. The breakfast of the hotel is amazing and I strongly recommend the egg and bacon bagels. The hotel employees were welcoming and really kind! I will definitely come back for any other trip to Naoshima.

United KingdomThe only downside for me were the fridges in the room were very noisy and kept me awake a bit at night.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly providing a lot of useful information about visiting the islands. There was a warm welcome too. The breakfasts were delicious. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient for the ferry to the islands.

AustraliaLovely welcoming staff with almost native level of English proficiency. The location is unbeatable for proximity to the port and JR train station and 7-11, all less than 5 mins away on foot. Excellent breakfast bagels - legit chewy New York style bagels, not bagel shaped fluffy bread - and exceptional barista coffee. This is a guest house, not a hotel, so the experience is like a traditional portside inn with Japanese style rooms. The futon style beds are very comfortable and yukata is provided to relax in your room. Absolutely loved it here.

BrazilExcelent staff, everyone was super nice to us. They gave us a map of the area, with indications of places to eat, which was super helpful, and also helped us with find renting bike places at the islands. The breakfast was the best we had during our entire trip in Japan, highly recommend. The location is perfect for who wants to explore the islands!

AustraliaJust the futon on the floor was not great but was still pretty good. If I was younger would not be an issue but when you are over 60 years not so easy to get up and down - but good exercise I guess!
The staff were absolutely brilliant they provided lots of information and made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous and the coffee was excellent. The best coffee in all of Japan . They also offer a great breakfast menu with great options for foreigners the bathrooms are really good and clean. Also having washing facilities was a really big bonus the proximity to the ferry is so good. You can relax over brekkie and make the early ferry for the islands still easily . We were so happy with UNO port inn we stayed 3 nights.

BelgiumNothing to dislike! One of our favourite hotel stays during our Japan road trip.
Perfectly located near the ferry terminal for day trips to the art islands (Naoshima and Teshima). The terminal is literally across the road. Very nice staff, all speaking perfect English and extremely helpful. Breakfast is lovely (at an extra cost). Rooms are traditional with a quirky twist and you get a private bathroom located near the room (not en suite).

The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful, always with a smile on their face. The facilities are clean with traditional Japanese style rooms. The bagels for breakfast were a highlight, making it super easy to start the day before hopping on the ferry to Naoshima or Teshima (departing from a pier located just in front of Uno Port Inn)
