What did I like? It's a difficult question...Where to even begin! A magical stay at the house of a Shinto priest, the 27th generation of their family's religious practice. We feel truly honored to be hosted by him. And who would have known that a Shinto priest would also be a master of Booking? Oh btw he also has a sweet cat called Kuro. He had prepared the room so spotlessly clean and so wonderfully proper, and offered us his bicycles to go around. Definitely recommend!

the entrance can be hard to find in the dark.

No downside

The property was located amidst the nature and is offbeat which was the highlight for us. The owner was nice and considerate, he gave us bicycles for the entire day and also dropped us off to the bus station. We loved staying here and it was such a refreshing experience.

Everything was good.

It was really nice to stay in Umeya Annex for one night, since the experience was really local and down to earth. I loved the possibility of using owners bike. The futon bed was also very confortable.

One of the highlights during our two weeks in Japan. We loved that we could cycle everywhere (the bicycles were provided for free). Beautiful view overlooking Mount Fuji from the balcony! Away from the crowds and surrounded by nature. Super friendly host, who even drove us to the station when we checked out. Such a wonderful place to stay!

There was nothing I didn’t like.

The location was so excellent, it exceeded our expectations. Firstly, our host was so friendly and helpful. He briefed us on the popular locations in the area and even drove us to the station on the day we left. We are so grateful. The facilities lived up to expectations too. We could see Mt Fuji from the balcony and it is close to every popular destination. Getting around town was easy because our host lent us bicycles. Cleanliness and comfort was excellent as well. This place has the most comfortable futon I have ever slept in. And bonus point, there is a really friendly cat named Kuro! I would definitely stay in Umeya Annex again.

Location, some spot points of Mt.Fuji are a few minutes from the accomodation. Views from the balcony. The host is incredibly friendly and helpful, always sugesting things to do and places to dicover and always checking that everything is perfect. He drove us to the station when we had to leave. Bikes are free to use and it is really nice to go ciclyng around the lake.

EVERYTHING! If you are looking for a real Japanese experience don’t think it twice this is the place. The owner made you feel welcome since the day 1. He messaged me trough booking to see our arrival time, he explained us everything clear… the room has a beautiful view of mt Fuji. He has his own bicycles that you can use to go around. It’s a magical experience. It’s a bit far from the bus station but he explained us how to get there and the last they he took us to the terminal station. The place is quite is a perfect plan to spend one day to relax yourself and connect to the nature

The owner was very nice and through his time to explain to me about the famous spot to visit. The first thing he did was to show me the Mt Fuji at our room. He is a very funny guy and I do enjoy staying there

This may be my favorite hotel in the world so far. My room had a lovely view of Fuji from the window and the host was LOVELY. You can see he tries really hard to make you feel comfortable, and any question you may have, he has probably thought about it already and has it written somewhere. The room was very comfy as well

We liked the entire space! The room had a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji, was cozy and our host made sure we were extra comfortable. He even went ABOVE AND BEYOND in helping us with an emergency situation with our toddler. We're incredibly grateful for your help and for both picking up and dropping us off. If we had more time, we would have loved to ride the bikes around the lake/neighborhood. Speaking of the neighborhood, it was quite peaceful. A very tranquil location to stay.

The location is a little bit far to public bus station and we had carried luggage and walked in the rain for around 20 mins.

The owner is really nice and he offered a free ride to send us to the bus station. The room is clean and comfortable, and we borrowed the bikes to cycle around the lake kawaguchi. Unfortunately, we did not get the chance to see Mt. Fuji due to rainy and cloudy even though the balcony was a good place to enjoy the view.

There was a lot of history in the place. The owner was very nice and helpful and made us feel like home. The view of Mt. Fuji from the balcony, even late at night, was great.

Very beautiful traditional Japanese homestay. Absolutely fantastic location, stunning views of Fujisan and about a 5 minute bike ride to Kawaguchiko lakeside. The host is such a lovely person who is incredibly friendly and helpful. He not only lets you use the bikes he has available but he explains popular places to go and how to use the facilities provided in the room. He even dropped us to the station and showed us a gorgeous spot to view the lake and Fuji on the way. Could not recommend this host and stay enough! Please if you have the chance to stay here, do it. Would definitely stay here again.
