Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe hotel is located on a hill, which I hiked several times until I found out there is an accessible entrance through the adjacent building, from the main street. Once I realized that, reaching the metro station was an easy 5 minutes walk.
The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained and a short walking-distance to several metro stations. The staff was friendly and communicates well in English. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with all the utilities one can think of. I slept very well during the night as the room is soundproof.

CanadaIt’s expensive for sure and it’s a little far of a walk to the nearest subway line.
Stunning room with an incredible view. It really is an amazing place to stay if price is no object. The staff were lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend it if the budget can handle it.

SingaporeThe only negative point is the location of the hotel. It is pretty far from the main shopping districts like Shibuya and Harajuku. It is pretty quiet at night, although there is a lot of police patrol in the area as there are many embassies around. There is easy access to the train station and taxis are easily available. However, I will still stay at The Okura again.
The breakfast had a good selection. The Japanese restaurant had a really nice garden view. The rooms are very spacious and the views are amazing. The fitness centre is awesome and has a wide range of gym equipment. The staff at The Okura are very helpful and attentive and polite too. Additionally, I was very impressed that most of them are able to communicate in English very fluently.

United KingdomThe hotel is located in a quieter part of town and was surrounded by office buildings. There weren't many shops or restaurants that are easily accessible from the hotel on foot. We relied on taxi to get to places. It wasn't a problem for us because my partner and I have been to Tokyo before and we had targeted places to visit on this trip. However, I can see it can be a problem for people who travel to Japan for the first time and enjoy walking around to experience the culture.
The room was so big at Otaru. We were able to open all five of our suitcases on the floor and there was still space to walk around in the room. That's unheard of in any hotel in Tokyo. The staff were very helpful. One of our luggage was delivered to the hotel before our check in and was already present in the room when we went to our room. The amenities were beautiful. They also provided lots of complimentary water for the room which was a nice touch.

CroatiaI can not find any fault in this hotel.
This is a wonderful property located in an elegant area close to main shopping streets. Our room was on 38th floor and provided a fantastic view of the city particularly at night. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with both Japanese and continental dishes. Despite the size this hotel feels cosy and intimate.

United KingdomWe booked the tempura dinner at the Heritage Japanese restaurant but felt this was quite expensive for what you actually got, pretty much my only complaint.

United KingdomI have to be pushed to think of this but there is a queuing system for breakfast which seemed a little unnecessary as when we eventually got into the breakfast room there were lots of tables available. Literally that is the only negative I can think of as our whole stay was unbelievable and we would stay there again in a flash.
Where to start!? The hotel is itself stunning, the staff were always extremely friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are stunningly beautiful, comfortable And spacious. Everything was thought of down to pyjamas / toothpaste and there was sweet gifts left for us in a drawer
