Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeIt'd be nice if the chair height for the room chairs could be adjusted.
Amazing location between Sumida Park, tourist attractions, and quite near to train stations. My room had cutlery, a microwave, and even a frying pan.

AustraliaNothing, all good!
10 min walk from Asakusa station, and right next door to Senso-Ji Shrine, which was on our list to visit. Perfectly clean no fuss rooms that have us everything we needed.

New ZealandThe beds were very hard which is how they are in Japan, but we all left with sore backs
Amazing location! Right by senso ji temple and a 7/11. The staff were lovely, great having laundry facilities on site. Great having two rooms although it was quite tight for a family of four

CanadaShampoo was provided but no conditioner. An extra pillow on each bed would have been nice. These are not reasons not to give a good review though.
Friendly staff, great location, good amenities. Staff helped us with filling out our luggage transfer forms.

AustraliaThe room is small but we knew it would be small. It would be good to have more space for storing our bags (we stacked them at the end of the beds) and more places to hang towels (although this is a complaint I have of basically every hotel everywhere - if the room sleeps 4 you need 4 towels hooks). Other than that it was perfect!
What a gem! Location is great - short walk to station/supermarkets/restaurants. We had an amazing view of the shrine from our room. The area is not as busy as other parts of Tokyo which was great for a first time visit. Staff lovely and helpful. Washer/Dryer worked really well and was cheap as. Check in super easy. Room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated and has a great vibe. Was a great stay for our family of 4. Having 2 bedrooms was very handy for kids with different sleep schedules.

GermanyThe hotel is perfectly located near the main Asakusa temples and close to train stations (Asakusa TX and Asakusa Subway). The room was large and clean, the shower was hot and everything was great. The guy from the reception is a rockstar, he was very kind and helpful in advance of our stay and during our stay. Long story short: Everything was great!

United KingdomPossibly more storage but space is tight in Tokyo and we knew this. If you want to hang the contents of your suitcase up this might not be for you.
Great location. It was our first time in Tokyo, and we were glad to be staying somewhere a wee bit more peaceful. Worth having the view of temple and Skytree. 10 mins walk to Asakusa Station. 20 mins walk to Skytree. Only 5 mins to temples. Shower great and plenty towels. Beds, pillows and duvet all very comfy. Friendly and helpful staff.

United StatesThe hotel is right next to Senso-ji and has a great view of Sky Tree too. We were able to hear the temple bell ring at 6 a.m. every morning and wander around the uncrowded grounds at night which was such a unique experience 😊 Check in was a breeze, and the staff are very helpful and speak English well. Asakusa station is about a ten minute walk from the hotel, and there’s a 7-11 right down the street that we frequently went to. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend if you want to stay in Asakusa!

United KingdomI know a lot of Japanese hotels don't do this but we would have appreciated tea and coffee in the kitchen. Other than that the hotel gave us everything we needed.
The location was great - with a view of the Sensoji Temple and the Skytree. Clara on reception was very helpful and helped us check-in and flagged down a taxi for us when we left so thank you so much to her. We were travelling with our grownup children so it was great having separate bedrooms and a kitchen area. The hotel was very attractive. There wasn't a restaurant, etc but we wouldn't have used one anyway. It was convenient there was a laundry and you could borrow chargers and a luggage scale so that was a nice touch.

SingaporeThe studio is too small for 4 persons with 5 luggages. I guess this is the typical Japanese house. Room doesn’t even have a space to put luggage at all.
It’s directly opposite of Sensoji. Quiet at night even though the hotel is just beside the main road. Staff were friendly. Comfortable bed. About 8 to 10mins to the subway station. A lot of eateries and convenient shops around the hotel. 2 separate bedrooms with balcony. Able to see Skytree from the balcony.

United KingdomSomewhere to put clothes would have been useful. A bit of traffic noise at night but to be expected in a big city.
The hotel worked perfectly for us as a family as there were two bedrooms and a kitchenette. The location was also great, really close to the Senso-ji Temple so that we could pop over and see it in the early morning before the crowds. Loads of great restaurants and shops in the area too and only 5 mins to Asakusa Station which was well connected to the rest of Tokyo. 1 min from the nearest 7-11 which was also very handy.
